Oh, one for thing I figured out how to do on Sega Dreamcast... VMU images/animation. This is AMAZING. 😂 All the possibilities...

Decided to procrastinate a bit. Started learning some Dreamcast programming. 🤭

Some Sega Dreamcast dev updates: * Skeletal animations work. * Figured out how to do semi-transparency and mip maps. * Added some basic input/camera stuff. * We have Kowloon's Gate at home. (the level is just a bunch of boxes, I want to do something prettier soon)

This got a lot more love than I expected, thank you. Here’s how it looks in a PS1 emulator (DuckStation). It’s easier to see how nicely the cat blends with the background and how the subtle fog makes it look even nicer. :)

The cat now looks at the objects you can interact with. 🐱👍

- Bitmap fonts work - Added cool text effects (wavy + rainbow) - Cat is now chilling I bet there are 0 PS1 games which can do THIS! 😹

Some Yume Nikki PS porting progress (to PC) It's starting to get playable, there's Mado here, but for some reason she's got huge boots now... 😑

Real animation now works! Let's gooo. (And people said to me that PS1 couldn't handle skeletal animation :P)

Was working on expressions/hands system and made a Pog button. Then NPC's animation broke and I realized that it's perfect for showing off bugs.

Babe, wake up, Super Mario 64 on PS1 is now real. The port is being done by a mad genius Malucart who's been working on it for a while. A lot of the things are still WIP and a bit broken (good for creepypasta material though!), but overall it's an incredible work!

My Dreamcast game's in-game PC runs DOOM now.

Playing Raw Danger (aka Disaster Report 2) on PS2 right now and it's blowing my mind... The graphics and the environments are mind-blowing, the water effects, the physics. The gameplay is incredibly fun, complex and immersive too. (Captured on my PS2 with Retrotink 4K Pro)

Lain PS1 is now somewhat playable. Here it is running on a real PS1. You can walk around the room and the vibes are cool. :)

(Actual Sega Dreamcast HW capture...) I'm experimenting with fog, lighting effects and glow. It looks pretty cool. 😍

Day 3 of Dreamcast programming. Got model loading done, vertex colors work and it all looks pretty neat. 😍

Yume Nikki PS1. Demo out NOW! It contains two dream worlds to explore. You can run it on a real PlayStation 1. This is a fan game. I put a lot of love and care into it. I hope you enjoy it.

Playing recently released Kowloon's Gate (PS1, 1997) English translation. It's so peak... Incredibly atmospheric, full of amazing characters. And imagine something like this running in real time 3D? Now that would be incredible... 🥲

How is Ridge Racer Type 4 even real... 🥲 It pushes PS1 to its limits - the lighting, the textures, the specular reflections on the cars... it looks miles ahead of most of the games on the platform. The game's vibes, music and aesthetics are also incredible.

Dreamcast is so powerful... It's not just an image on the screen. You can interact with the in-game PC with the Dreamcast mouse and keyboard. (I won't copy Win95 for the final look, want to design my own fake OS :D)

My game running on PS1, Sega Dreamcast and PC at the same time! The PC version is where it all began. First with OpenGL and then Vulkan version. This is the only version with dynamic shadows, btw. :D

Thinking about the character style I should use for my PS1 cat game. Imported the model from The 3rd Birthday (PSP) as a test and wow… PS1 can have had NPCs that look like THIS?

Greatly improved NPC interaction polish (inspired by Majora's Mask). * NPC and cat now look at each other * NPC dude finally has a face * Fixed cat blinking * New font * Rotation and head turn happen in parallel now, not after each other.

The PlayStation can produce mind-boggling effects...

More Sega Dreamcast game progress. Added dynamic lighting and restored the HD model I had before I started my PS1 project. :) (P.S. Don't worry, I'm still going to be working on PS1 game too!)

Made a backend for Dear ImGui for Sega Dreamcast. I can’t believe it works. Sadly, I don’t have a mouse/keyboard for the Dreamcast, but once I do, it’s going to make this thing even more incredible. 😂
