Besaid (FFX) is my favorite game track ever. It's subtly complex. It lulls you into a daze with constants, but varies them in subtle ways (strings, drums, synth) to breathe new life. It is a song that can never be truly remade. Like the ocean, it just undulates. Forever.

Chrono Cross's Dead Sea is one of the most haunting tracks I've heard in a game. A lone opening piano twists Chrono's iconic major seventh run into something sorrowful and terrifying. A glockenspiel mocks prior innocence. A Green Memory warped into a black nightmare.

Sometimes there’s beauty in simplicity. Chrono Cross’s Sailing in Another World uses just three instruments to create an evocative world map track. A wistful piano plays over a cascading guitar as a bass adds depth and grounding. Whilst laughter echoes under cerulean skies.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest has some of my favorite symphonic rock in gaming. Dark King is a personal standout. -Foreboding intro -Drops hammer w/ kickin rhythm guitar, melodic strings -Snares, toms, bass fill gaps as layered strings ramp tension -Pure 80s prog rock energy
