Contrary to President Trumps social media posts, Portland is not war ravaged. There is no insurrection. There is no threat to national security.

Hate and violence should never be tolerated or left unchallenged. Instead of fear and hate, we must lift each other up, neighbor to neighbor, and stand firmly for a world where everyone is safe to be who they are.

My housing production bill is making its way through the legislature, but I’m not losing sight of what’s most important: Oregon needs to build more housing – now.

Today, I sent a letter joined by more than 30 Oregon mayors to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Tom Homan, calling for an immediate halt to ICE activities in Oregon until recent federal use of force incidents are investigated and there is full accountability.

Today, Oregon officially became an Age-Friendly State, joining the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. This designation is a commitment to making sure older Oregonians can live safely, stay connected to their communities, and age with dignity.

My budget also recommends $10 million to see how volcanic rock layers underground in Eastern Oregon and elsewhere can provide a viable opportunity for geological carbon sequestration and encourage private-sector investments in this critical technology.

What we are seeing from federal enforcement right now unacceptable. Oregon will continue to push back against policies that harm our neighbors and fight for justice, compassion, and safety.

A federal court blocked restrictions on gender affirming care, protecting access to medically necessary services. In Oregon, health care decisions belong to patients, families, and providers. To the young people who depend on this care, I have your back. Stay strong.

Oregon’s immigrant and refugee communities are at the heart of our state. I was proud to sign new protections into law that help uphold safety, dignity, and justice for families across Oregon. Thank you to the community leaders and advocates who helped make this possible.

Happy Earth Day, Oregon. We’re staying focused on protecting what makes this place home, from our forests and rivers to our beaches and wildlife. Caring for our environment is about responsibility to each other and to future generations.

While the federal government turns its back on climate science, Oregon is moving forward. Through new executive orders, Oregon is accelerating clean energy, protecting public health, and creating good-paying jobs for our future.

We know increasing housing supply is the long-term solution to housing affordability.

More than just remembering, let’s commit ourselves to an Oregon where all are welcome and everyone thrives. A place where everyone, regardless of who they are, feels safe and secure to live an authentic life with dignity and freedom from hate.

Under President Trump’s budget plan, over 100,000 Oregonians will see their insurance bills go up by $70 to $150 per month, with some people seeing increases of $200 or more per month. That’s unacceptable, especially when so many Oregon families are trying to make ends meet.

To families in Portland impacted by the teacher strike: My team and I are working every day to help the sides reach a resolution and get kids back in school.

Please know that I will do everything in my power to protect the rights and safety of our residents, including the rights and safety of our immigrant communities.

While families are already worried about the cost of living, elected leaders should be working to help businesses grow and families make ends meet. These tariffs just don’t make sense.

Indiscriminate and unlawful uses of crowd control tools by federal agents must stop. A federal presence that meets the public with unnecessary force is fundamentally unacceptable in our nation.

Medicaid and SNAP are a lifeline for Oregonians and rural communities. Congress, don’t cut Medicaid and SNAP.
