Two things… He never looks for the 3b Coach even though the ball is behind him. Commentary: “He’s a baseball player.” Instincts aren’t born. They’re practiced.

My opinion, “Knob to the ball” is one of the worst cues you can give a hitter. Not only is it internal but it causes a pushing of the bat. Barrel must jump in front of knob!!!

Reminds me of ⁦Clint Hurdle⁩ advice… Ahead in the count don’t be late. Behind in the count don’t be early.

Alabama hit this ball with the bases loaded and 1 out. They scored 1 run in the inning. I’m at a loss how colleges teach base running. I don’t understand why the runner at 2nd is tagging. Someone explain this to me!!!! 🤷‍♂️👂

All hitting coaches have “their thing.” One of my things is that front ankle. When it rolls on its side, the barrel is permitted to be delivered squarely. It’s not a teach but rather a clue. #WeRollAnkles

This is a classic example of “resulting.” This is a terrible read by the runner at 2nd and yet the announcer calls it a “heads up play.” I have a hunch the coaches weren’t altogether pleased with this “heads up play.”

Such an elite skill Adam Cecere shows here. Can you move the barrel without moving your hands forward? 👏👏👏

I got somewhat animated at camp yesterday listening to some end of bat contact! Great hitters get jammed! Be athletic through the ball. #Posture

Right now I’m obsessed with the idea of “not fighting for extension” and getting the barrel to jump in front of the hands as early as possible. Notice how close his hands are to his torso at impact. #SubtleAdjustmentsIn #WeRollAnkles

What if… BP actually had two versions. One to challenge and improve you and the other to soothe and comfort you.

I’m beyond confused with the base running here. Not only did the runner at 2nd tag, but so did the runner at 1st. Am I crazy?

When your athlete strikes out, consider 👏👏👏👊 instead of “keep your eye on the ball.”

Was talking to a former Big League pitcher yesterday. “Maybe, the most under appreciated player on the team, is the selfless catcher who works incredibly hard just to help his pitcher.” 🤔 I’m thinking there’s a reason why they become managers at a high rate. #HumilityWins

Calling pitches is a collaboration between Coach and Catcher. Think Game Theory instead of Static Thoughts. Adaptable beats Optimal!

I ran a practice the other day for a 13u team that tapped into FLOW design and DELIBERATE PRACTICE!!! I absolutely loved it! If you’re interested in the whole clip, shoot me a DM and I’ll share the entire practice. #Imagination #Flow #TestBoundaries #StopWinningPractice
