George's Post-Race Interview🏁 "Well, I was more frustrated in the race situation. I don't understand how three drivers can cut the first corner and just continue in the position they entered. It's like allowing you to risk everything that you just have to get out of jail, free card, if you get it wrong. So, and then obviously Max and Lewis, when they came together, Lewis got the penalty, rightly so, but Max was off the track, came back on in the wrong place, wrong time for me, and I lost three positions. And obviously I was pretty frustrated, but it all stemmed from that one. Well, I think it holds me down to the circuit. If there is this get out of jail free card, if that was gravel, no one would be there. We've seen it almost every year we've been here. I think last year, Charles the year before, Lewis 10 years ago, it's like a lawnmower racing. So, I don't know, something needs to change there. As I said, if you can just send it down the outside, you can either make it stick, or you just cut the grass and you return in the position you were in before, that's not really how it should be." #F1 #MexicoGP

George answer question from maria, a Mercedes fan from Spain. 🗣️: What something that you have to do before the race? GR: "I tell my girlfriend I love her, she gets upset if I don't, so that's more for her sake and gives peace of mind. I think for us as well on that note, you know, we're doing what we love. We know the dangers, but when the helmet's on you feel that you're sort of in control of that destiny, whereas for your fans or family or loved ones who are watching, you know, they can't control anything, and I guess that is a nerve-wracking time. But no, for me, I don't really have any major superstitions, to be honest. We always weigh ourselves before the session to make sure we're not going to be too heavy or too light, because I know quite well you can get disqualified if your car is too light, but I don't have any major superstitions, no."

George's Post Sprint Qualifying Interview🏁 "we've sort of been saying all year, we're in the fight on the bad days with P5 and today wasn't a good day. We just got P5, sprint races are tricky sometimes. I think potentially we have a better race car than we do qualifying car. We're struggling a lot in the high speed, but I think when you're going a bit slower in the race through the high speed and the car's not as low to the ground, it could be a bit faster. But yeah, I think this is roughly where we're at sort of in the fight for P4." #F1 #USGP

George's Post-Quali Interview🏁 "We were quickest in FP3, quickest in Q1, quickest in Q2 and I had an issue with the power steering in Q3 and qualified fourth.:Lando did an amazing job and these conditions are obviously very challenging and ultimately it always comes down to that last lap. That last lap is key and unfortunately in Q3 I had this problem. So I'm not saying I would have been there with Lando who clearly did an amazing job but it was just a shame. But it went away from us at the key moment of the day. I jumped out the car 10 minutes ago but just suddenly on one lap I didn't hit a wall or anything but the steering got really heavy. Every time I was sliding I couldn't control, it was like getting locked in position. So on my last lap I was talking with the engineer making sure it's even safe to drive because when you're doing 230 miles an hour down the straight and you think maybe the wheel might fall off or something might happen, it's a bit concerning and it doesn't give you the most amount of confidence to send it around the corner. So as I said, I am disappointed. We looked quick, it just didn't come together but P4 is not a bad place. I think we've got a chance. I think we'll be in the fight. I don't think there'll be a big pace difference between the three teams at the front. I can't say which way, like who's going to be the quickest or who's going to be the slowest but I'll be surprised if the spread is more than a tenth of a second between the three teams. So that makes for an exciting race. Sometimes being at the back to start with, you can do something slightly different with the strategy. So yeah, it could be okay." #LasVegasGP #F1

George Russell Post Race Interview🏁 "There's only three tenths between the quickest car and the slowest car and the top six and normally you need at least half a second to overtake so if I came out of Turn 1 in P3 I'd have been on the podium today but instead I came out in P6 and I finished P6. Red Bull are going to be ahead of us. It swings so quickly. Ferrari qualified ninth and tenth in the sprint race. If that was the main race that would have been a lot of points to us and they'd have had a bad weekend. And as I said, it's such fine margins. If I was 20 milliseconds quicker in qualifying yesterday I'd have been on the front row and probably on course to finish second in the race. As I said, the qualifying is massive, Turn 1 is massive and I don't even remember the last two-stop race in F1 now. It's just quite processional unfortunately. I think Qatar and Vegas realistically are our two best shots but again it all just comes down to the lap in qualifying. If you do the job, just comes down to that lap in qualifying. If you do a really strong lap and you're on the front row you can hold the position and if you don't it's going to be the same in Mexico. Yes, it's going to come down to Q3 and the race is out." #F1 #USGP

George's Post Qualifying Interview🏁 "I was pretty happy with my lap, to be honest, but when you cross the line and you're 0.02 from Lando on the front row, it's annoying. Realistically, I think it's going to be very tight, very difficult to fight for more than, let's say, P3. We don't know how the race pace at McLaren are going to be. I expect Oscar to come through pretty well and overtake him. It's usually pretty good around this track, so I hope we can fight for a podium, but it can be anyone's day. You can never really have a plan. You've got to just be dynamic. You have a rough game plan, but you can't say, I'm going to do this, because you've got to prepare for, or just be adaptable." #F1 #USGP

🎤: We really were expecting the unexpected tomorrow from that kind of starting position because he's not gonna disappear off into the distance. What are you takes? You were hoping the tow from max today as well.. GR: Yeah, I mean it was a subtle hint to the Red Bull pit wall to sort of like consider it because you know, you need somebody in the mix But the truth is they were too quick for us today, We were obviously the top of q2, but we were on new tyres. Everyone else was on old tyres. So I think we knew deep down they they had three or four attempts to come. #AbuDhabiGP #F1

Jenson Button on George Russell qualifying performance🗣️ "Confidence after his first run. You can see he looks relaxed. He looks relaxed behind the wheel. There's no sudden movements on the steering. Everything's very gradual. Precision. Really, really impressive lap. He has. And you know, before qualifying, Kimi looked super quick. Kimi and George were both very, very close, even through the first part of qualifying. But when it really mattered, George was calm, collected, got it done. Just experience, feeling comfortable in himself to go and get the job done. Yeah, definitely. And it's a street circuit as well. So you need to build up to it a little bit. And I think that probably he took a little knock in FP2 with the incident he had. I think it probably surprised him because he just didn't expect it. So it took a little knock, but it's amazing how he's turned the tables and to get that in Q3 and just the way he went about it was very impressive. George's lap was just super smooth, George's lap is one of the best laps we've seen this year." #SingaporeGP #F1 #GeorgeRussell

George's Post Qualifying Interview🏁 with skysportf1🎤 Yeah, no, I'm happy. No, it's been a very strange weekend, I've been struggling, haven't been confident with myself, the car, and I knew there's a lot of pace in the car. Kimi been doing such an amazing job this weekend, but you know, by the end of qualifying, when you get those, you know, couple of sets of tyres underneath your belt and you can build that confidence, I felt good come Q3 and two laps for pole was nice. This place has been, hasn't been my friend in the years gone by, and of course, being on pole position is an amazing result, but this has been a track that has bitten me on numerous occasions in the past, so I'm not getting carried away with myself, to be honest. I'm really pleased, of course, of the car's performance. I think we're all quite surprised at McLaren's lack of performance because if I were to bet, I wouldn't have bet that we would have been more competitive than them this weekend, but of course the race is tomorrow, it's going to be tough, but I'm feeling good. #SingaporeGP #F1 #GeorgeRussell
