Government taking over L&T Metro is one of the best things to happen to Hyderabad. Metro rail is rarely profitable for a private player. L&T realized this very late. While commuters have faced severe overcrowding since 2022 ( Attached the video from 2022), there was no increase in coach capacity, citing the losses. Even Phase 2 was also stalled due to lack of cooperation on revenue sharing and integration from L&T. The Centre has been waiting for this handover before approving Phase 2. Financially, this may not look good but for the metro to scale up, integrate seemlessly with Phase 2, and meet the city’s growing needs, this is much needed. Across India, there are no successful fully private metros anymore. Gurgaon Rapid Metro and Mumbai Metro lines originally developed by private players were eventually taken over by state authorities. Anyway, Hyderabad’s PPP failure is a hard lesson for any government or private entity attempting to enter the public transit space.

This is Plot No. 16 in Neopolis by Godrej. They have been drilling without any dust suppression. A simple water spray during drilling can significantly reduce the dust, but Godrej Properties Limited doesn’t seem to care about pollution or public health. They are just pumping dust into the sky. Even after promising action following my complaints, DC Narsingi Circle 45, CMC seems to be acting helpless. What is the use of sending notices if they don’t even enforce basic checks? 🚨 Exclusive: HYDRAA reclaims part of My Home’s upcoming HITEC City site In one of the biggest crackdowns yet by HYDRAA, a portion(6.5 acres) of the upcoming My Home HITEC City project site appears to have been reclaimed as Edula kunta (lake) land, with a massive operation currently underway. Incidentally, the land is reportedly owned by MLC Naveen Rao (NVN Constructions) and his brothers, who are close relatives of the KCR family. Early unconfirmed reports suggest this was originally part of a lake buffer/channel (Edula Kunta Shikham) connecting the lake near N Convention to Kaithalpur Lake. Just a week ago, I visited the My Home site, where excavation works were in full swing. It appears HYDRAA may have waited until the excavation was completed, effectively getting a ready made lake 😟

🚨Upcoming Villas near Shankarpally From a reputed builder : Think Twice Before Submitting an EOI I see some Channel Partners are inviting EOIs for the upcoming villa project in Chandippa Village near Shankarpally from a reputed builder. Location: I visited the site a few days ago. While it is close to Shankarpally town, it is actually located within Chandippa Village. The village is separated from the town by a railway line and a river, with only a bridge on Chevella Road providing access. I don't expect Shankarpally's growth to expand towards this side anytime soon. A quick look at Google Maps also shows very limited development around the area. As seen in Google Maps and the videos I shared, the approach road to the site passes right through the village, and the project is literally attached to the village. In my view, this limits its appeal and appreciation potential. At the current EOI price of around ₹7,999/sft and an expected launch price of ₹9,000/sft, I personally don't think it offers good value and given the current access and location, I don't think it will appreciate further too. Also, the land is currently in a Conservation Zone and will require conversion approvals before obtaining HMDA and RERA permissions(HMDA Zone map attached) My suggestion: do thorough due diligence before investing. Visit the site personally and verify the points I have mentioned before making a decision

Dear Commissioner, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation / Zonal Commissioner, Serilingampally Zone - CMC This is the condition of the Tellapur main road for many months now. The dust accumulated across the entire stretch can be clearly seen in this video (shot near Aliens Space Station). Imagine the plight of two wheeler riders using this road every day. I understand this road is under dispute/coordination issues with R&B, but that cannot be a reason to leave citizens suffering like this. Surely, better temporary maintenance can be done. Komatireddy Venkat Reddy garu / Vikas Raj IAS (Spl CS R&B) / P Pravinya IAS (Special Secy R&B), if possible please find a long term solution, including handing over such roads to CMC. Citizens should not suffer because of lack of coordination between departments. FYI Revanth Reddy & Jayesh Ranjan ,this is nowhere close to the vision of a global city. The situation is becoming pathetic.

While browsing JioHotstar, I saw Hyderabad's Manchester Global School is featured in the “Great Indian Residential School” series. It could be a paid promotion, but the campus and infrastructure seem quite big and well built. I had seen this school earlier while passing through Tukkuguda, but didn’t realize how large it is. It appears they offer the full IB programs PYP, MYP, and DP. The founders seem to have invested heavily in the infrastructure. From a quick search, I found the founder is from Telangana and earlier worked at University of Bolton( Greater Manchester) as a Deputy Vice-Chancellor. I also see a trend of international schools in Hyderabad hiring foreign, especially European, principals. I don’t have any direct feedback on the academics though.

Restoration of the Bum-Rukh-Ud-Dawla lake in the Old City by HYDRAA. The plotted layout inside the lake was linked to MIM MLA Mohd. Mubeen, who even tried to stop the HYDRAA demolitions and was arrested. Now everything has been reclaimed and merged back into the lake by HyDRAA. 👏👏👏

Dear Commissioner, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation This appears to be clear mismanagement or possible corruption. The original LED lights of the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge are no longer being used, which is giving visitors a sub-par experience. Despite months of social media posts about the missing lighting, no action was taken. Now, all of sudden, spending 45 lakhs for just 45 days of special lighting raises serious concerns. I am not sure how Zonal Commissioner Kukatpally approved this kind of expenditure. Continuous Traffic Jams at Gowlidoddi Dear Commissioner GHMC /Secretary MAUD. /Telangana CMO /Revanth Reddy/Cyberabad Traffic Police/NVS Reddy This narrow stretch in Gowlidoddi is the only road connecting key areas like Tellapur, Nallagandla, Kollur, Osman Nagar, and Gopanpally to the Financial District and beyond. It is already leading to huge congestion and with numerous high density under-construction apartments in these localities, traffic congestion is expected to become unbearable in the near future. Unfortunately, there appear to be no government plans for mitigating this issue, and this stretch is not included in the H-CITI development plan. I urge the government to prioritize decongesting the Gowlidoddi road by either constructing a flyover or expanding the road. Additionally, given the high-density developments along this corridor, a metro extension from Wipro Circle to Osman Nagar is essential. Please consider these measures for the next phase of Metro. I request folks in that area to like/retweet /share to amplify this for attention from concerned authorities

Odeon Mall at RTC X Roads is all set to open soon, featuring 6 screens by PVR. For those who don’t know, this replaces the iconic Odeon Complex (Odeon Deluxe, Odeon 70mm, and Mini Deluxe). One of my fondest memories here is the 100-day matinee show of Nuvve Kavali with all my college friends 🙂
