Everyone justifiably focuses on the end of this scene but I think this part is beautiful too

Incredible Jessica Walter delivery

I love when FBI trash surveillance is depicted as FBI agents in suits standing outside someone's house in the middle of the day picking through the items in their trash cans. Movies are amazing

Beautiful piece of world building in The Chair Company

Me for the last two days

That moment when John McClane realizes the villain is going to steal City Hall

Mathematically perfect physical comedy

Seven women all agreeing that a mechanical exoskeleton is pretty cool... I often witness this in real life but it's nice to finally see it on TV

The perfect phone call...

Imagine being a firefighter and Wes Anderson comes up to you in an all white suit and says “Um, can I ask— do you have— when you guys— was this experience— do you have any theory of what was… wrong with it, or.” The dream

I'd forgotten about the beauty of Wambsgansian speech

Watching the famously bad X-Files episode that was inspired by the photo of the hill on Mars that looked like a human face. The face in the photo was blurry and therefore the monster is a blurry face from space

This is what peak female performance looks like

Just learned that in the French-Canadian dub of this scene the policeman can't understand a word Bart is saying because of his Québécois accent

Forgot about the season 1 finale of The Newsroom

Some of the most sublime Cunk moments are when an interviewee passes through their initial confusion and simply decides to adopt the tone they would take with a three year old

Rewatched the 2012 HBO film Game Change... many of its best moments are Julianne Moore pretending to be Sarah Palin watching Tina Fey pretending to be Sarah Palin

I rewatched Batman Forever tonight and this might be my favorite 40 seconds of any Batman. It doesn't feel like anything else in the movie but it's everything I want Batman to be. Pulsing synth and a guy who puts a heads up display in a sarcophagus he'll only spend ten seconds in

A couple of my friends in Australia are looking for a house and this is how I've learned that Australian home sales are carried out through a high pressure verbal auction that happens in the driveway of the house being sold

There was nothing else like this show

I wish there was a low-budget practice version of every great film

Riding in the front car on the REM is becoming one of my main hobbies

Forgot about the scene where Ethan Hunt is trying to find a mysterious arms dealer named Max and he searches Usenet for "MAX .COM"

These four are kind of a perfect comedy team... Pamela generously accepts Nathan's reality while Wolf just sits there being annoyed and confused

Love when they become hostile while agreeing with each other

Only the best hackers know you can obtain the IP Address PING of a Youtube video by viewing the page source

I always remember this shot as having the camera slowly push in on him but it actually doesn't at all. My mind is just doing that on its own

Still one of my favorite films of this decade

The two biggest movies of 2000 both had scenes where Lisa Gerrard sings over Hans Zimmer music while the protagonist contemplates the great beyond during a climactic knife fight
