He rewrote Chani to basically spoon feed the audience that “Paul is bad” - but it’s quite clear a lot of DUNE fans think he’s still like Luke Skywalker, which just reinforces the ideas the book/movies propose about messianic figures. Denis is still going to have to make Messiah to deal with same issue Herbert had.

my filmmaking takeaway from DISCLOSURE DAY was blast a space with light and let actors perform. so much of Spielberg's efficiency comes from deep depth of field. you can get 4 shots like this out of one when you're not worried about focus. now we light less, shoot shallow, and cut it up.
