In reality, current robot fighting is boring unless something malfunctions or breaks. It lacks what makes sport compelling, i.e. training, skill, rivalry, sportsmanship, and someone to root for. Prerecorded moves make for forgettable demos, not memorable moments or champions

Ladies and gentlemen, the start of the 2026 World Humanoid Robot Games. In China 🇨🇳 In a different timeline US gov kept funding DARPA Robotics Challenge and we'd already be doing the Robot Olympics (aqua edition). But, I guess now China will be the one leading us to singularity.

The difference between humanoid robots walking up stairs in 2026 vs 2015. Not enough credit given to Brett Adcock and team for that video. Left - Figure AI Robot (2026) Right - KAIST DRC HUBO Robot (2015) Both state-of-the-art robots of their time. Realtime playback speed.

I’m in China, at UBTech’s launch event of the U1 android series and it’s insane!! These are full-size bionic humanoid robots they plan to ship end of 2026. I like that a lot of their models have western fantasy style and some of them look like they belong in Legend of Zelda.

Made the mandatory humanoid robotics pilgrimage to Waseda University, Tokyo 🇯🇵 Can anyone guess why this place is special? It’s the birthplace of humanoid robotics - WABOT, the first humanoid was born here. Alongside are his two brothers, WHL-11 and WABOT-2. We’ll discuss soon.
