Besides showcasing their new androids, I believe today’s UBTech announcement is a pushing towards more research on areas such as synthetic skin (e-skin), telepresence and human-robot interaction. Their entire set up is pretty much WestWorld themed.

I’m in China, at UBTech’s launch event of the U1 android series and it’s insane!! These are full-size bionic humanoid robots they plan to ship end of 2026. I like that a lot of their models have western fantasy style and some of them look like they belong in Legend of Zelda.

タチコマ（タチコマ）は、アメリカでもよく知られている象徴的なロボットで、私が特に好きなロボットの一つです。日本とアメリカのロボティクスの大きな違いの一つは、日本のロボットにはいつもはっきりとした個性やキャラクター性があることだと思います。これは、実際のロボットでもデザイン上のロボットでも同じです。例えば、アメリカのヒューマノイドロボットの多くは、白やシルバーを基調とした無機質な見た目で、顔もありません。一方で日本では、美しさやデザイン、フォルムがとても大切にされていて、それが人とロボットの距離を近づけている一部なのだと感じます。「ロボットまつり」でたくさんのロボットを見て、そのことをあらためて強く実感しました。

ROSClaw Integration Update Read the text in the video carefully ⊙ Robot is present both physically can in Nvidia Isaac Sim simulation. ⊙ The agent’s initial goal set to explore any object it finds in its spatial view. ⊙ Think of it as if the physical robot is seeing through the simulation. ⊙ ROSClaw vision uses Gemini Live for spatial narration ⊙ An object (a playground slide) is identified and the ROSClaw (OpenClaw) agent takes over. ⊙ The agent initiates action. Attempts to walk towards object. ⊙ None of it is pre-planned. The agent (robot) is acting on its own
