Those after-work beers sound a lot less appealing when there’s a pretty good chance I’m at home barefoot in a sundress, tidying, making dinner, and looking over my shoulder every time I hear something in the driveway. I'll bring you a cold one when we’re finished.

I have a sneaking suspicion I'd accidentally become the reason one very grumpy, hard-working man was constantly running five minutes behind schedule, and the same reason he'd be smiling all day because of it

I don’t think men realize how attractive competence is. Watching a man confidently operate machinery, fix things, build things, tow things, or explain something practical does more for me than six-pack abs ever could

You’ve spent all week fixing other people’s fuckups, so Sunday comes with one rule: nobody asks you for a damn thing. I can respect that. Fortunately, what I had in mind wasn’t going to sound much like a question anyway.

Taking a single mom out of her masculine survival era and putting her in her soft, feminine energy takes a real man. And I'd move mountains for the man who gives me that kind of peace.

Some sleepy blue-collar man is waking up right now, about to start a 12-hour overtime shift on a Saturday, who doesn't know that I'd have his coffee ready before his alarm goes off, steak and eggs on the stove, his lunch packed, and a roast dinner waiting for him when he gets home

What is it about the last week right before Labor Day that always feels way more like the beginning of a new year than January ever does? Summer is almost over, football starts tomorrow, and there's always something in the oven. I’ve been training for this all year, fellas.

RedZone on, ice-cold beer, dinner being prepared, and spending an entire Sunday in zipperless pants. I believe this is the closest the average man gets to inner peace. I’ll be in the kitchen until my number gets called. I have a feeling I won’t be riding the bench all afternoon.

There's a tired, grumpy blue-collar man somewhere pulling on his work boots, filling up his Thermos, and counting down the hours until he can finally turn his brain off for the weekend, and all I can think about is how I'd make sure he came home to something worth grinding all week for

I’ve lost over 60lbs naturally since May 2025. It’s one of many accomplishments I’ve made over the past year. The point of this post isn’t the weight loss, though, or to celebrate it. I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve accomplished, and validation from the internet was never part of that. What has been fascinating is watching complete strangers dedicate part of their day to telling me I’m old, ugly, fat, fake, washed up, hypocritical, low value, or whatever else they’re workshopping this week. The older I get, the more I realize none of it has anything to do with me. People project. Happy people rarely spend their time trying to tear complete strangers down on the internet. I’ve worked too hard to let anonymous people determine how I should feel about myself. If anything, those comments just remind me that people who have never met me are investing far more time thinking about me than I’m spending thinking about them. If anything, every hateful comment just throws another log on the fire. And I’ve learned that some things aren’t destroyed by fire. They’re forged in it. 🐦‍🔥

Regarding yesterday’s fine print: in my defense, nobody reads it until after they’ve decided they want what’s advertised. Besides, the sort of grumpy blue-collar man who’d get himself into this sort of predicament never struck me as a man who reads the instructions first anyway

You asked me to check whether your phone fell between the bed and the wall. I found forty-six cents, a sock neither of us recognized, and enough dust to reconsider my housekeeping standards. I knew the whole time the phone was in your back pocket. So did you.

The funniest part about being a woman on the internet is watching men prepare for the inevitable catch. Relax. Sometimes the pretty girl really is an amazing cook, genuinely laughs at your filthy jokes, and can debate politics over dinner. Terrible news for your cynicism.

The difference between a modern woman and me? I'd rather be on my knees for a man who provides than on a pedestal for one who doesn't. Also, I have a really nice bum.

Imagine spending all day working in the August heat, driving home prepared to stand under a cold shower until you feel human again, then kissing me hello at the kitchen sink on your way upstairs, just as a perfectly timed breeze comes through the window. So much for cooling off.

If you’re scrolling X from the cab of something that smells like diesel and hard work, I’ll keep this professional. I’m doing dishes in my nightie. I know exactly what that look over my shoulder does to you. No, I won’t tell you what I'm doing after. Have a productive afternoon.
