In Maharashtra, the Kumbh Mela will take place in Nashik. To provide accommodation for the sadhus and mahants coming for the event, a “Sadhugram” is planned. A big thank you to the sanitation workers of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. Before the citizens who celebrated the World Cup victory parade woke up, the sanitation workers had already cleaned and tidied up the Marine Drive area. The previous night, the Marine Drive area was littered with thousands of shoes and sandals, and these workers were busy removing the garbage until dawn. By morning, they had restored Mumbai to its original state. We should all express our gratitude to these workers. दादा आवडायचं हेही एक कारण होतं. कधी पूजा-पाठ नाही, कोण्या बाबाच्या चरणी लीन नाहीत. हातात अंगठी नाही, गंडेदोरे नाहीत. काम हाच देव आणि काम करणं हीच पूजा. आज राजकारणात माजलेले धार्मिक स्तोम, दिखाऊ श्रद्धा, घंटा-घोष पाहता, हे जाहीरपणे सांगण्याचं धारिष्ट्य फक्त दादांकडेच होतं.

तुळजापूरच्या देवीला मटणाचा नैवैद्य असतो हे आजवर फक्त ऐकून होतो, काल रात्री पाहण्याचा योग आला. नऊ दिवसाच्या आराधनेनंतर देवीला पहिला नैवैद्य हा मटणाचा असतो. तुळजापूर गावातील मानाच्या परड्या असतात त्यांच्या उपस्थितीत हा नैवेद्य ठेवला जातो. त्या नंतर मंदिर परिसरात प्रसाद म्हणून मटणाच्या पंगती बसतात अन् याने उपवास सुटला असं समजलं जात. आज संपूर्ण तुळजापूर शहरात घरोघरी बोकड असते अन् ही आजवर चालत आलेली परंपरा आहे. हे बोकड कालच रात्री मंदिरात आणून देवीला दाखवले जातात. जेवणाला पाहुणे-राहुळे बोलावले जातात. हे सगळं मला स्वतःला काल अनुभवता आले, सोबत फोटो-व्हिडीओ जोडतोय. कोणा शाकाहार प्रेमींना अजून शंका असेल तर त्यांनी पुढील वर्षी दसऱ्याला स्वतः येऊन पाहावे.
