The Danforth was one of many neighbourhoods that ended up completely buried, with snowfall totals topping 50cm in some spots. As cleanup gets underway, please remember to take your time and pace yourself while shoveling. Overexertion in heavy snow can be dangerous, and heart attacks during cleanup are more common than many realize. Take breaks, stay hydrated, and ask for help if you need it. - Brennen

Dr. Sills from the Northern Tornadoes Project agrees that this was probably more than just a gustnado, like what we were seeing yesterday, but it will still need to be confirmed. "How did the Quebec wildfires start all at once?!" is a question we've been receiving quite a bit. We were curious too so we decided to review the data. Using GOES-16 satellite data for fire hotspots and by overlay lightning data, the answer becomes pretty clear. Of course, not all fires are caused by lightning. In rare cases, they can be caused by human negligence such as a bonfire that has gotten out of control, improperly disposed ashes, lit cigarette butts and even arson. #ONStorm #ONwx Wow! 😮 I’ve never seen fog/smog this thick in my life. It’s like living in the clouds! ☁️ An area of thick fog has set up over Downtown #Toronto producing near-zero visibility. This fog is also mixed in with pollution that has nowhere to go, leading to reduced air quality as well. - Brennen
