The minorities in Malaysia should not be bullied on every issue just because it conflicts with #PoliticalIslam. There must be a space for all. It wasn't an issue for the first four decades of independence. For years, beef is served at government functions. Do you think the Hindus don't care? Malaysia must respect all and look towards the middle ground. ===== video source: MG

This issue has been festering for years. It traces back to the early 1990s, when Mahathir Mohamad began mainstreaming political Islam into the system. He used it to challenge PAS, lost the game and now a permanent part of the nation's body politic. Moral policing is the most visible expression of political Islam in practice: using the power of the state and peer pressure to enforce Islamic norms, in this case dress codes, so that Muslims (and, indirectly, non-Muslims) are compelled to live according to "Islamic standards" in public spaces. For Muslims, religion is no longer the private space. The people viciously attacking Bella online are often the same individuals who privately consume large amounts of porn, especially Asian and Indonesian porn. In public, they project an image of pious, devout Muslims, hoping others will look up to them and to conform to what the state wants. In private, their behaviour is the complete opposite. This is classic identity politics enabled and encouraged by the political environment the state has created. They assert their Islamic identity by publicly shaming others, while living with little regard for the moral standards they demand from everyone else. I agree with Harith that this behaviour is unacceptable. Unfortunately, it will not stop and it is likely to get worse. As long as Muslim politicians and religious leaders continue to weaponise identity politics with Islam at its core, these public displays of outrage will intensify. The ultimate irony, of course, is that corruption and watching porn are quietly tolerated, as long as one isn’t caught. That is the hypocrisy at the heart of this brand of identity politics. #MoralPolicing #Malaysia #IdentityPolitics #PoliticalIslam

Here's another video from a few years back. As I mentioned, she's been spouting these kinds of claims for ages now, and she commands a sizable Malay audience- Malay audience who might not buy into it hook, line, and sinker, but tune in religiously anyway. She says Borneo is part of Malay land. I wonder how the Dayaks feel. What's truly fascinating to me is how plenty of credible Malay historians steer clear of publicly challenging her. Even her own university stays silent on it. What does that say about the bigger picture? Who is promoting her work since there are plenty of organisations giving her a platform? Many of them are government-linked organisations. Something for you to think about. #Malay #History #Civilisation #Crazy #FakeHistory

If there’s one thing TDM has mastered, it’s the art of political spinning. Truly world-class. The man practically has a PhD in manipulating narratives. And of course, being the ultimate authority on how Malays think (just ask him!), he knows exactly which seeds of doubt to plant and when. No surprise this video is making the rounds like wildfire in Malaysia — nothing gets people talking quite like a masterclass in subtle manipulation of the facts. Take a look and tell me if you’re as impressed as I am. #Mahathir #AnwarIbrahim #Royal #Pardon

Malaysians Chee Kit "Max" Chong (46) and his wife Angie Yeh Liaw (32), are accused of keeping an Indonesian woman as a "slave" at their Point Cook home, Melbourne. If this is true (the trail is ongoing so lets not speculate), it is simply unconscionable. We treat maids badly in Malaysia, in fact, many people see maids as less than human. I'm surprised that this is not headline news in Malaysia. #Malaysia #Indonesia #Australia

I've always argued that Mahathir believed in centralisation rather than true federalism. He was particularly harsh toward Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak. In Sabah, he never forgave the Kadazan-Dusun-Murut (KDM) community for challenging him in the 1985 and 1986 elections. He viewed it as Christians challenging Muslim hagemony. He wanted Muslims to be in control in Sabah and Harris was his proxy. In Sarawak, he left Taib Mahmud alone because of a written agreement between them. However, this didn't mean he was generous with financial allocations to Sarawak. Mahathir insisted that oil, gas, and all other valuable resources belonged to the central (federal) government. This was classic Mahathir: he wanted to be a strongman so he could achieve his political goals. Who helped him initially? You will be very surprised. Watch this video from a first-hand witness and comment below if you think Sabahans and Sarawakians have a strong case for their historical grievances. #Sabah #Sarawak #MA63 #RealHistory

Awtar Singh says what a lot of non-Malays are thinking.... we have this endless problem because the law is slanted towards one side and the same side dominates the political system. So the outcome is the minorities are always asked to back down and accept the solution. Except the solution is designed to please one side and the other side is told to STFU and accept. When it comes to religious issue, you know the results even before the issue starts. Yet Mr Madani talks about "justice" and "fairness" and even wrote a book about it. I have said a million times- hypocrisy is the number one currency in Malaysian politics.

Whoa. Covert conversions. Many are wondering what would happen if it were the other way around—a covert conversion to a different religion? In no time at all, the mob and the authorities will arrive. As Preeta says, is it any wonder nons are afraid of govt schools? Ps. Don't worry. No action will be taken. You know why... #JustAsking #PoliticalIslam #Malaysia

FAM Boss: If you're knee-deep in a pit of your own making, here is a useful tip: Drop the shovel before you hit China. Stop Digging. Honesty is the best policy and it is clear you do not want to tell the truth to the public. Next presser? Skip it unless you are willing to tell the truth. PS. Who's the intrepid journalist who ask those questions? I want to buy him a drink and nasi lemak ! By the way, I can tell you upfront that nobody in KDN will be held accountable. FAM will pay the price for all the monkey business. The people with the power to award easy citizenship will never be held accountable because that is how the system works. Our system is rotten to the core, and the govt in power is very afraid of the deep state! #football #Malaysia #Scandal #CoverUp #FIFA #NoShame #citizenship

Siti Kasim's podcast with ZI. Watch this clip. If what Siti says is true, then DSAI is actually working for the Moon party. He is doing what the Moon party was unable to do- set an administrative foundation for a full Islamic republic of Malaysia. Do the Malay rulers know what DSAI is up to? Let me know what you think .. (just to be clear: I have no idea if this true, I asked around my contacts and got a mixed answer so I have no conclusion.) #Malaysia #NegaraIslam #PoliticalIslam
