😱😱😱If you thought "Professor" Solehah was extreme, you should meet this group of people. They go even further, claiming that Malay civilisation is older than China’s. Because it is supposedly older than China, they argue, evidence is difficult to obtain. These people are no lunatics; they run a sophisticated operation that includes selling books promoting alternative history. The young man interviewing the “historian” has written more than ten books about the greatness of Malay civilisation. Every society has such people, but they are usually not part of the mainstream. In Malaysia’s case, it might be different because of the state-supported ideology. The only contemporary world comparison I can think of is Russia under Putin’s state project to revive Russian history with falsehoods; eg, the claim that the Russian empire once extended across most of Europe, including Ukraine. Is Malaysia heading that way; toward a narrative in which Malay civilisation extends beyond Nusantara and into Roman Europe and the Americas🤔🤔? Bro RR, while this was happening what did you do? You were in cabinet and PKR number 2? Did you speak out in cabinet? Moreover, Anwar had no choice. Obviously he wanted to stay in power and had to deal with the Borneo states and UMNO. Was there another way? I don't doubt your sincerely in bringing new politics to Malaysia. Permas is a seat with 53% Malay voters, 27% Chinese, over half of whom are above the age of 40. BN won the seat in the last state election because of poor turnout. She is a former aide to the late Amanah deputy president Salahuddin Ayub, who served as Pulai MP until his death in 2023. Interesting post by TZ yesterday on the halal laksa debate or more precisely, the politicisation of halal status for political gain. Will the right-wing now accuse TZ of being anti-Islam? When Nons raised the same issue, they immediately branded it as anti-Islam and Islamophobic. Like I said, the labels are used to shut down legitimate debate. Uncle, before Malaysia's formation in September 1963, oil production from Sarawak's Miri field (peaking at ~15,000 bpd in 1929, with a lifetime total of ~80 million barrels) was significant. Even if what you said was true, can you name me one iconic project funded by Petronas in S/S. Meanwhile, Petronas paid for the twin towers, new capital Putrajaya, Dayabumi, etc. Most people do not know that Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur and Menara Maxis were funded mostly by Petronas as well. The only big money spent by Petronas in Sarawak is the LNG Complex in Bintulu. But I am not sure you can count that as it was built so that Petronas can exploit the LNG gas from Sarawak.... You can get away with revising history because Malaysians do not know their own history. I'm here to remind you that some of us know the truth, and we will #SpeakTruth. Here's another video from a few years back. As I mentioned, she's been spouting these kinds of claims for ages now, and she commands a sizable Malay audience- Malay audience who might not buy into it hook, line, and sinker, but tune in religiously anyway. She says Borneo is part of Malay land. I wonder how the Dayaks feel. What's truly fascinating to me is how plenty of credible Malay historians steer clear of publicly challenging her. Even her own university stays silent on it. What does that say about the bigger picture? Who is promoting her work since there are plenty of organisations giving her a platform? Dr Betty Teh, who has been actively campaigning for Bersama in #PRNJohor, is urging the Chinese community to turn out and vote. She argues that voting may now be one of the few remaining avenues of influence left to them, after being progressively sidelined from other key institutions such as the civil service. She is correct about the declining Chinese population share. The demographic forecasts are frightening. It's been a year, and no action was taken by her university over her crazy views. I said last year that no action would be taken because of the KMI ideology promoted by the Malay establishment, and I was right.
