Can somebody explain this “slot vulture” thing to me? 😂 Are people watching someone fill up a bonus meter like this, waiting for them to leave, then sitting down to try to get the bonus? Is THAT what everyone’s talking about? 🎰 #vegas

In the Vegas daylight, the Sphere literally turns transparent. Ad revenue has not matched the hype. Makes you wonder if this concept works better in cloudier cities than the desert. #vegas #sphere

We showed you the fight. Here’s the aftermath: According to FOX5’s reporting on the arrest report, the North Carolina couple tipped $20 for photos outside Planet Hollywood on September 30 and walked away. Police say Jennifer Ortiz followed them demanding $60–$180. Investigators say the man was struck more than 22 times, including with Ortiz’s high-heeled boot, leaving a nearly two-inch forehead cut. Police say Magdellena Romero tackled the woman when she intervened, pulled her hair and punched her. The third performer reportedly tried to break it up and wasn’t arrested. The $218 card charge was NOT made to the man in the fight video. That was a separate complaint from another tourist. A DIFFERENT tourist said he agreed to $60 but was charged $218 through Ortiz’s phone. Jennifer Ortiz was booked for battery and obtaining money under false pretenses. Magdellena Romero was booked for battery. Ortiz says the tourist hit first. Romero says she was defending her friend. Ortiz already had a stay-out-of-trouble order connected to a March Fremont Street fight. We live here. We love showing people why Vegas is worth visiting. Nobody should have to budget for a fight when they stop for a souvenir photo. —Jedi Rich & Jedi Joy #LasVegas

Hard Rock Las Vegas is bringing something back the Strip almost never does: balcony suites. That’s a BIG deal. Balconies are extremely rare in Vegas hotels — not by accident. Most resorts avoid them due to liability, safety concerns, and design economics. The one major exception has been The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas — and there’s a reason for that. It was originally built as a condo project before the 2008 crash killed that model. The units were never sold, it became a hotel — but the balconies stayed. Vegas actually tried this twice. One became Cosmo — a hit with terraces. The other was The Harmon — a condo tower at CityCenter that never even opened due to structural defects… and had to be demolished. After that (and the financial crash), developers moved away from condo-style builds entirely. Outside of Cosmo? Very limited inventory: • A few specialty suites at Bellagio • Some off-Strip or legacy properties • Almost nothing mainstream on the Strip That’s why Cosmo balconies became such a signature differentiator. Now Hard Rock is stepping into that lane. If they execute this right, these won’t just be rooms — they’ll be premium inventory with real pricing power. Bottom line: Balconies aren’t normal here. #vegas

🚨 FLOOD ALERT AT WINNICK AVE / KOVAL IN LAS VEGAS ‼️ Waterfront views of the Sphere! If it weren’t for the flooded street and cars sitting in the water, this would actually be a peaceful afternoon in Vegas. Lovely breeze, perfect temperature, the soothing sound of rushing water… Winnick and Koval has never felt so peaceful. Seriously though: Winnick and Koval is flooded. Avoid the area and find another route.

VEGAS ISN’T DEAD. IT’S BREAKING UP WITH THE GRISWOLDS. 🎰 Three resort CEOs say they’re prepared to keep high-end room rates up—even if that means fewer occupied rooms. That’s the distinction I’ve been talking about: filling every room isn’t the same as protecting the experience. When COVID hit, Vegas discounted rooms to bring people back. That part is documented. From what I saw living here, parts of the Strip started feeling less like an adult Disneyland and more like a bargain-basement free-for-all. Here’s the problem: you can discount a room overnight. It takes years to undo a bargain-basement reputation. My uncle worked directly for Sheldon Adelson. He told me Sheldon’s approach at the Venetian in 1999 was straightforward: raise table minimums to $10, establish a dress code, and actually enforce it. The lesson wasn’t simply “charge more.” It was decide what experience you’re selling—and protect it. People paying for luxury aren’t just buying a bed. They’re buying atmosphere, service, and standards. They don’t want chaos in the lobby. And when you market yourself as the cheapest option long enough, “cheap” becomes the expectation—not a temporary promotion. My read? This is more of the Strip deciding it would rather compete for higher-spending guests than win every bargain-hunting vacation search. That doesn’t make every price increase smart. And it certainly doesn’t make every empty room intentional. But “Vegas costs more than I want to spend” and “Vegas is dead” are two very different statements. As I said before: Vegas didn’t die. Vegas reset. The Griswolds may still want the old deal. These resorts appear willing to let that deal—and some of that business—go. Smart reset, or a dangerous bet on too few big spenders? 👇

This is what worries me most. People living beneath the Strip can be out of sight- and too easily forgotten when disaster hits. You can see someone’s cart floating down the river. To someone else, it might look like trash. To the person who lost it, that could be their entire world. Imagine watching everything you own disappear. Whether it’s everything in a shopping cart or a home in the Palisades, the feeling is loss. Having less doesn’t make losing everything hurt less. We’re checking on flooded cars and casinos. I hope someone is checking on them, too. Their lives matter just as much. ❤️ #vegas #LasVegas #VegasFlooding #EveryoneMatters

If you think Vegas is dead, you’ve never been here on a Thursday morning like this. This is officially one of the biggest weekends the city has seen in years. Between WrestleMania 42 hitting Allegiant Stadium and NAB Show bringing the future of tech to the North Hall, the energy today is electric. You can feel the build already — and this weekend is stacked: • WrestleMania taking over Allegiant Stadium • NAB Show bringing 60,000+ into the city • Phish kicking off a Sphere run • Vegas Knights first round tix go on sale at 10:00AM this morning. • Seinfeld, Chelsea Handler, Tim Allen all on deck This is a full compression weekend. Hotels up. Crowds up. Energy up. Vegas is already moving. Let’s have a day, Las Vegas. 🌅

Not a political take — just something I’ve noticed living in Vegas. I talked to a Canadian guy last night who still comes here every year. None of his friends do anymore. They’re skipping the U.S. for now. No drama. They just aren’t booking trips. That matters in a city like Vegas. Canadians have always been a big part of tourism here. When fewer show up, you feel it fast: • Slower Strip nights • Fewer shifts • Less tip money • Quiet souvenir shops Tariffs don’t help either. A lot of Vegas souvenirs are imported — higher costs + fewer tourists = thinner margins for small shops. No politics. No sides. Just how a tourist economy works when visitors quietly stay home. Vegas is still Vegas — but you can tell who isn’t here. 🇺🇸🇨🇦

Peppermill has a digital marquee — and anywhere else this would probably be a pretty impressive sign. But this is the LAS VEGAS STRIP. 😂 They replaced the old-school neon marquee in 2018, and while the LED version is functional, it misses what made the original special. Peppermill already has something most Strip properties would kill for: a strong, instantly recognizable Old Vegas identity. So why compete in the modern LED arms race with Resorts World and everyone else? Lean into what makes it different. 🔥 A towering retro neon pylon 🔥 Chasing incandescent bulbs 🔥 Bold vertical “PEPPERMILL” blade signage 🔥 The Fireside Lounge flame as a centerpiece 🔥 Or a hybrid design with neon framing a small digital panel The goal shouldn’t be to have the biggest screen on the Strip. It should be to have the most iconic sign on the Strip. Make it a landmark again. What would you build here? #LasVegas #Vegas #LasVegasStrip #Peppermill #OldVegas

Las Vegas is getting HIT today. 🌬️🏜️ • 50+ MPH wind gusts — that’s strong storm-force desert wind • Enough force to sway cranes, shut down rooftop rides, and turn the Strip into a wind tunnel • Sustained winds pushing 25–30 mph = zero breaks This isn’t “breezy.” 50 mph can: • Knock adults off balance • Send debris airborne • Slam car doors, rip hats clean off heads • Force construction sites into emergency safety mode Look up today — • Flags snapping straight out • Cranes spinning freely to avoid structural stress • Palm trees bent, not waving That calm blue sky is lying to you. This is a pressure-gradient blast — Pacific storm energy squeezing through the Valley like a jet nozzle. Vegas rule today: 👉 If it’s loose, it’s gone. 👉 If it’s tall, it’s shut down. #LasVegas #VegasWeather #50MPHGusts #WindEvent #DesertPower #VegasStrip #WeatherReality
