For the last couple weeks, I’ve been checking Las Vegas at all hours — not just Saturday night, not just dinner rush, not just big convention crowds. I’ve been out at 3 AM, 10 AM, 3 PM, late night, early morning — Strip, off-Strip, expensive spots, cheap spots, tourist traps, local corners. This week alone we looked at the massive elegance of Trump International, then bounced over to Excalibur, where you’ve got Dick’s Last Resort, castle chaos, budget Vegas, and pure people-watching insanity. That’s the point. Vegas isn’t one thing. You can do luxury. You can do cheap. You can do classy. You can do ridiculous. You can spend big or barely spend at all. If you can’t find something in Las Vegas that fits your budget, your vibe, or your mood… either you’re not looking hard enough — or you just don’t want to be here. Vegas is changing. And I’m out here documenting it.

Today you’re it’s a fancy food court, complete with a Starbucks, a couple bars packed with people, and a much more casual vibe. Is it less elegant? Maybe. Is it better business? VEGAS ISN’T DEAD, BUT IT IS OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPRICED I haven’t visited Vegas in almost two years and I’ve seen many people post about how it’s dead now and there aren’t as many tourists. Upon arriving, it’s certainly busy but it’s also the most expensive I’ve ever seen it. My fiance and I decided to stay at Caesars Palace for our wedding this week in the area. We were shocked to find out that not only would you be charged 75 dollars if you put any of your own items in the fridge, but you also would have to pay 20 dollars a night for a personal fridge. This is just one small example of many ways hotels seem to want to squeeze out as much as they can from you. The WiFi is also free for up to two devices, but if you want to throw a 3rd device in, you also get charged. We also encountered nearly 400 dollars of additional fees which were not reflected in the advertised price. It makes me sad to see Vegas become one of the most expensive vacations for people.
