Kahuta, Pakistan Police have established checkpoints in Kahuta where vehicles carrying food and other essential supplies to Pakistan-administered Jammu & Kashmir are being stopped. Preventing essential supplies from reaching civilians is deeply concerning and risks worsening the humanitarian situation. JKJAAC calls for the immediate and uninterrupted passage of all vehicles carrying food, medicines and other essential goods into Jammu & Kashmir. We urge UN Human Rights, international human rights and humanitarian organisations, and the international media to take note of these restrictions and closely monitor the situation. Across Azad Jammu & Kashmir, reports of police brutality, excessive use of force, arbitrary arrests, intimidation, unlawful raids, and violations of fundamental rights have become increasingly widespread. These incidents have left countless families traumatised and raise serious concerns about the rule of law and the protection of basic human rights. In this video, Dr Masood Khalid shares his own account of the police raid on his home and the treatment he says he and his family endured. His experience reflects the growing concerns being voiced by people across Azad Jammu & Kashmir. JKJAAC calls upon the international human rights organisations, and the wider international community to urgently monitor, investigate, and respond to the deteriorating human rights situation in Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Independent scrutiny, accountability, and justice are urgently needed. Those responsible for human rights violations must be held accountable in accordance with the law.
