You know what’s crazy? There are guys that weigh 175 that can throw just as hard as guys that weigh 255. Sure. You can probably get away with less range of motion, more mechanical “flaws” (sense the sarcasm one time), and less total stress on the body if you’re a bit heavier and have more mass to use But it’s a positive sign for smaller athletes to see what’s possible and how to leverage different training focuses to maximize potential.

There’s no such thing as a waste pitch. If you USE the waste pitch. Great stuff from Rob Friedman and Paul. Everyone loves the splinker, the command, the easy velocity But this nugget here was a great idea that a lot of young players can benefit from. Instead of beating yourself up about too many “waste pitches” Use your secondary offerings to play off of those and keep hitters at bay.
