Mexico: Potential Set-Play Kings? Their decisive goal in the 1-0 win over Australia was from yet another outswinging corner: > 5 Set-Play Goals in the Gold Cup > 2 in the Nations League Last night, against a very tall Australian side, it was the same: > 6 in the Box (5 if a Short Option) > Majority Move to Front Corner of 6-Yard Box > Deliveries are Highly Consistent Quality If teams are going to counter this, they need to ensure good zonal height in the front zone and man-markers to make proper contact with runners and block. Czech Republic were the best European Nation from Set-Plays in Qualifying...wonder what they will both come up with in Group A

Can We Change the Handball Rule? I feel for something as severe as a penalty, the punishment has to fit the crime: > A Deliberate Handball Offence > Blocking a Goalbound Shot (Deliberate or Not) For other offences, could we start to introduce Indirect FK's: > Crossing into Crowded Areas > Shots Going Off Target > Headers Going Away from Goal The attacking team still get some advantage and the defending team are penalised but it feels like the punishment fits the crime a little better... Thoughts?

Group A: Czechia 🇨🇿 - Analysis It is finally here, the first team of my World Cup Analysis Project and it's Czechia. They will play a 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 formation: > Wing-Backs High & Wide > Wingers Coming Inside as "10s" > Lots of Crosses (3rd Highest in Europe) > 3rd Most Big Chances Missed They are also Set-Play Kings: > 48% of Goals in Qualifying from Corners/IDFK's > 3 Out of 4 of their vital Play-Off Goals from Corners Player to Watch: Pavel Sulc (LW) - Lyon > Pacey & Direct Dribbler > Creativity & End Product > 14⚽️/7🅰️ This Season I am very excited to see them in what will be a very competitive group.

Group C: Brazil 🇧🇷 - Analysis Welcome to the World Cup Analysis Project to Brazil. For a certain generation, Brazil are the WC & in Carlo Ancellotti & the squad available, this might be the most exciting group since 2014. They will play in a traditional 4-3-3 under Ancellotti: > Front 3 Fluid Around the Pitch > Combine to Create > Fullbacks High & Wide > Structured "Deeper" & Countering at Speed Player to Watch: Endrick (CF) - Real Madrid > A 19yo Maverick > Pace, Power & Skill > 16 Goal Involvements at Lyon in 2026 Brazil have so many talented players in the newly announced squad, not to mention Neymar Jnr's return but for me, Endrick needs to be let off the leash to go & shine on the Biggest Stage.

Rangers: Back-3 Build Issue The 3rd Goal summed everything I dislike about trying to build in this Back-3: > Removing a Player from the Middle > 4 Players Now Infront of Celtic's Full Team > Seperating CB's from Key Areas But more than that, Rangers don't appear to have a "Pattern" or "Rotation" to actually build, it's almost always: > Play to CB on Outside > Ask CB to Drive & Play Through Lines > Or Build Direct but with Less Numbers for 2nd Balls Celtic Took Full Advantage: > McGregor Recognises the Overload > Nygren Understands Djiga "Out of Picture" > Overload on Diomande & Turnover the Ball Distances With & Against the Ball for Rangers is a real concern and that's the 3rd Team in a Row that's provided a blue print to play against.

Rangers: Defensive Disorganisation As an Analyst, working in football, I always try to tow-the-line of being respectful about professional players when covering them but I am also a Rangers fan. What I have watched in the last 4 games is utterly astonishing from Coaching Principles to Player Responsibility: > Man-Marking or Ball-Orientated Defending? > Analysed & Addressed? > Player Reactions & Responsibility? > Player Pride & Work-Rate? The lack of responsibility and people willing to actually do the basics like run & do hard yards for each other is actually disgusting to watch as a fan and unprofessional to watch as an analyst.

Rangers: Anticipation, Awareness & Reactions Lots of "small" errors from individuals lead to "huge" errors in a Title-Race. This isn't about singling players out for errors, it's just about highlighting the difference between doing what they did yesterday & what "Top" players do week in week out to win a title: > Transitioning into Defence > Nico Raskin Overly Aggressive after Great Position > Sterling Too Focussed on Left-Back after Great Position All those "small" errors can be corrected by quick reactions 👇

Jack Aitchison - Available in the Summer Jacks Main Attributes: > Goal-Threat on Both Feet > Underlapping Runs & Driven Crosses > Cute Through-Balls on Last-Line > High-Pressing Wins This Season at Exeter: > 31 Starts > 9 Goal Involvements > 27 Chances Created > 4th Most Fouled Player in League One His video & data reports marry up quite well with Clubs that would try dominate the ball and build chances over being "Direct" and relying on "2nd Balls": > Clubs Playing a 4-2-3-1 with a "Single-10", a 4-3-3 with "Two-8s" or a 3-4-3 with a "Two-10s" > League One (Sheffield Wednesday dropping, Luton/Bolton if they don't go up & Notts County/Salford/MK Dons if they go up) Outside of that, watching as much Scottish Football as I do, I reckon Hibs & Aberdeen would really benefit from a "Number 10" with Jack Aitchisons Skillset A very talented attacking player that probably needs to find the "Right-Home" for this next move

Connor Barron: No.6 for the Run-in Rangers most settled midfield in the past 2-seasons has been when Barron has anchored Raskin & Diomande. What does Connor Barron bring? > The 1st Goal doesn't happen with him as the "No.6" or on the Pitch at all in my opinion > Best Line-Breaking Passer of those Midfielders (Striking similarities between his and Elliot Watt's pass) > Capable of Creating More > Set-Plays Added (2 Assists v Aberdeen) He is the midfielder in Rangers current squad best equipped to fulfill the role of a "No.6"

Bookies Show Wrong Booking??? A couple of pals have asked because they were all waiting on Dundee Utd #5 Sevelj to recieve a card for a few pennies. I think the bookies have got this completely wrong, Sky & Opta included: - Diomande clearly given a 🟥 - Walsh then walks away from Holt - Shows a 🟨to #5 Sevelj If anyone else is waiting on this bet, you need OptaJoe Opta Analyst to correct it on their site or alternatively Scottish FA reports end up available. Kevin Holt is literally in the opposite direction 🤣🤣🤣

Masterclass from Manager of the Year Derek McInnes showed yesterday why he is 'Manager of the Year' for me in his Half-Time switch to 3-5-2. First Half, Rangers in complete control but without any real creativity, which is why Derek McInnes probably didn't change it sooner: > 3v2 in Central Midfield > 4v3 with Moore when Shankland dropped > Same Issue for Hearts with the Ball Second Half and McInnes switched to a 3-5-2: > Spittal Added to CM to Match Up Rangers 3 > Steinwender Man for Man on Moore to Avoid Overload > Leaving Shankland and Braga on the 2 CB's After that, it was a proper McInnes' Performance: > Direct & Channel Balls > 2nd Balls & Lots of Territory > Man for Man Press Hearts smothered Rangers into submission & by the time Rohl reacted, the momentum was with Hearts and the game and title was gone

Postecoglou Principles & Play The influence of top-level coaching can create positive hangovers and I reckon we seen that yesterday especially with the influence of Alastair Johnston* > Inverting FB's > Wide Men 1v1 > Underlapping 8s The rotations of Celtic FB's, 8s and Wide-Men was highly effective & Rangers could not keep up with it unfortunately. *I don't really analyse red cards etc, you can rely on Sky, VAR Review & the likes for that 👌

Celtic 3-1 Rangers: Key Analysis Rangers had started really well with a High-Press similar to the 2nd-Half at New Year & got a vital lead but just couldn't sustain it and Celtic got control. A look into where Celtic quickly took the game away from Rangers in the 2nd Half: > Runs Behind from Deep > Underlapping Fullbacks & Engels/Nygren > Filling Out the Posts (A lot of it looked like Postecoglou Principles) As a result of Celtics' Play, Rangers ended up stretched defensively: > Huge Gaps Between FB and CB > Antman & Tavernier Lack of Relationship > Reacting Before Maeda Thoughts? Any new ideas you'd like to see in prep for the World Cup...

League One Birmingham For any Man Utd fans that were excited about the football they were witnessing at times on Sunday, dont get too ahead of yourselves... The Press has actually been succesful on a couple of turnovers but the ease at times and the pressing the GK almost never works

Patience, Possesion & Positioning One of my Favourite Rangers European Goals, memories of Dortmund under Advocaat & Galatasaray under Gerrard. The importance our fans will play in Russell Martins side cannot be underestimated, we need to understand it: - Patience in not "Forcing" it forward because we see a forward pass - Possession will seem slow & passive at times - Positioning; It is all to move players into the right areas, at the right time & allowing us to take full advantage Hopefully this video provides some little additional insight to what I have seen 💙
