When I became mayor, Los Angeles was facing challenges that had been ignored for decades. So I got to work. Homelessness is down 17.5%. Homicides are at their lowest level since the 1960s. More than 42,000 affordable housing units are being fast-tracked. There is still more work to do to make L.A. safer, more affordable, and a city that works for everyone.

When I became mayor, Los Angeles was facing challenges that had been ignored for decades. So I got to work. Homelessness is down 17.5%. Homicides are at their lowest level since the 1960s. More than 42,000 affordable housing units are being fast-tracked. There is still more work to do to make L.A. safer, more affordable, and a city that works for everyone.

Hollywood is part of L.A.’s identity. The entertainment industry should be able to thrive in the city that built it. That’s why I cut filming fees, reduced unnecessary production costs, and reopened city buildings for filming to help keep jobs and production in Los Angeles. There’s still a lot more work to do, but we’re finally seeing an uptick in production in L.A.

One year ago, this city was shaken. None of us could have imagined being invaded by our own federal government. When troops descended on Los Angeles, I showed up and said what needed to be said: this will not happen in the nation's second largest city. We are still reeling, and it is so important that people be reminded - this has not ended. No matter when you arrived, why you came, or where you came from, I will always fight to protect every Angeleno.
