This is a rendering technique that is useless in modern contexts (I think?) and was never programmed back in the N64 days, but it is immensely useful: Sauraen's F3DEX3 lets you define a screenspace region where any triangle fully inside it will not render.

Because we can! The new optimized engine allows us to render more complex models, there's no point in optimizing the game if you don't take advantage of the extra performance. These light reflections look much better on the 3D body, and the level still easily reaches 60fps!
