Had a pretty productive morning; submitted Pixross Remastered to Steam for Steam Deck verification and a lot of progress on my new character game assets which will be compatible with Kay's, Quaternius', and Mixamo's animation sets!

I'm adding text to speech to my upcoming boomer shooter game engine and I made them say "rest in peace" but I keep hearing "crispy peas" 😭

I've made 30+ splash screens for #GodotEngine users, they're all absolutely free to use in your project! 🤖 💾 Download:

Working hard on my game for #GirlyGameJam, it's been about a day and already got a visual style going, a bit of a concept, and interactivity! Really pleased with the results so far ✨

"Oh sure, let me instantly generate every storefront image at once" is something no game developer ever said... until I added this feature to Kenney Game Assets All-in-1! 🎉 (Coming later this month!)

Excited to try out s&box when it launches? Click the little cloud icon, type 'kenney' and boom thousands of Kenney assets at your disposal ✨

Quick update; I'm going to postpone the Flag Pack a bit to give me some breathing room (it needs work), instead I'll release Cube Pets! Will be coming between March 9th and 15th! #gameassets

Cube Pets is now available! 🎁 This pack includes 16 animals with walk and run animations, ready to settle in your game. Download for free, for everyone:

Day 1 of Godot Engine: I've made a platformer with camera controls, bit of juice, gamepad support and some new #gameassets to go with it! Planning to release this as open source, including the models.

Starter Kit: Racing for Godot Engine is releasing next week! Open-source and great as a base for your racing game using my well-known sphere ball technique. It might be a little rough around the edges but I really want to finally release this ✨

It's nice to just to browse through your physical games and find something to play. Ya hear that, PlayStation?

Starter Kit FPS for Godot Engine is now available! Dive into the source code (MIT licensed) or just grab the models/sounds (CC0 licensed) for your own projects ✨ #gamedev #gameassets

Using pre-made game assets is not a sign of being lazy, or not caring enough about your game. It's deciding what's important to spend time on, and what has already been done for you. (Video source: Richter Overtime)

A bunch of new cool stuff is coming to next week's Asset Forge update including mirroring, gizmo improvements and the ability to quickly toggle snapping!

Day 2 of Godot Engine: Added particle effects, sounds, coins, HUD and improved some models. I'm almost done with this, ready to be shared as an open source CC0 template for anyone to use and improve upon! Godot verdict: I'm in love.

Tonight I made another game for my custom arcade cabinet but I'm apparently a game design moron. Players drive by pressing a button but shouldn't drive while in the spotlight. The flaw? Why drive at all... What would be your fix for this issue?

It's silly to see procedurally generated content called "AI generated slop" because it really isn't. Procedural generation takes skills, generative AI does not.

If you'd like to get started with Godot Engine, check out one of my Starter Kits. Open source projects with bare minimum set-ups for a 3D platformer, FPS and city building game! More coming...

These cuties are now available in the Platformer Kit and come with animations! They're free to use in any of your projects, who's the first to implement them? 👀 #gamedev

Exciting news! ✨ Kenney Game Assets All-in-1 will soon come with a launcher application that bundles a few small tools perfect for common #gamedev tasks. The launcher will be packed with All-in-1 soon, as a free update!

I saw this video on Reddit of DuneCrawl, which uses my Asset Forge for sketching. I love it, in fact, I loved seeing this so much that it gave me a lot of inspiration. Big plans for Asset Forge, hopefully will already be able to share soon.

Skyboxes now available ✨ totally free for everyone, for anything (CC0, public domain). Includes 5 skies with instructions on how to use them! Please share with your friends 🙇‍♂️

I was so incredibly tired of all those sound generators that can only create retro sounds... so I created my own! It's a work in progress and it'll be part of a new project but enjoy some sounds I've made. Each of these took a minute tops! ✨

Super complex, state of the art sound system* for ambience rain sound in upcoming game. (*it's 3 sounds layered)

Friendly reminder that I recently released Kenney Solitaire which is a free game both playable in the browser or downloadable without any of the nonsense that competing solitaire games come with!

LOOOOOOK I made a game in s&box, it took about an afternoon including creating the assets 🛩️ If you know Unity, you know this - simple as that. (I'll complete this and get it up to a playable state on s&box soon) garry

How to do my typical 2 pixel outline in Aseprite: 1. Select an item 2. Hit SHIFT + O 3. Click square + apply 4. Click circle + ok 5. Optionally remove outline where object hits ground Ta-da! ✨

Back in 2020 I released "Pixross", a nonogram puzzle game. Unfortunately it didn't sell well... Now, I've decided to collect all criticism and fix/improve every single bit. Pixross Remastered will be a free update, coming soon!

I'm kind of hooked on creating stuff in s&box so I made solitaire, the goal was to create a simple game but make it feel super nice to play! It'll release together with s&box on April 28th 📆 garry

Well into #GirlyGameJam right now! There's 5 days left and the game is shaping up. I'm spending most my time weaving the little storylines together and adding tasks. Tomorrow I'll tackle the start and end of the game! Once done, it'll be free for everyone to play 👻

I've added a 3D viewer to the All-in-1 companion app today (powered by Babylon.js) 🔥 The app update will launch together with All-in-1 on Steam, it'll also be a free update on of course!

Asset Forge is getting a new update soon! Use over 900+ blocks to kitbash models, export them directly to your game engine or render sprites. It's available here:

Starter Kit: Racing for Godot Engine is now available! 🎉 Easy to understand code, fully open-source & 3D models included! It's a little rough around the edges, but feel free to do pull requests if you can improve on it! #gamedev #gameassets

Quick (wip) preview of the Kenney Game Assets All-in-1 browser that'll be added once it launches on Steam. It'll allow you to quickly preview & find assets, and favorite them. A personal favorite feature is dragging and dropping files directly into your game engine!

MakeRoom: Tidy Up! is out now 🫧 This free update adds tons of new cleaning, gardening and unpacking objectives. Also new; pools and rooftops! (30% off!)

MakeRoom is out now! ✨

Progress on my s&box game! 🛩️ Impressed on how solid of a game engine it already feels. There's really neat stuff that others need to implement asap, like just hitting F6 to record footage... Will release April 28th, together with s&box itself

Cube Pets version 2.0 is now available (for free)! I've remade all the previous animals adding more detail, there's more animations, and 9 new pets have been added. Enjoy! ✨ #gamedev

I've also worked on my GTA-but-cute game! #gamedev

Everyone is working hard on their #KenneyJam entries, we're seeing so many different art directions and takes on the theme; scales!
