Can’t believe that happened. James J Braddock is named after a boxer, was ridden by a boxer in DBM and scrapped like one today. All credit to Joseph O'Brien for buying him so well, letting an eejit like me buy into him and doing such a brilliant job training him. What a game. 🙌

Many have concluded that the Cesarewitch winner will definitely be disqualified, but have a close look at this. I think the 10th and final use of the whip might well have missed the horse and if so, it won’t be counted. It’s certainly worth a close look with better quality pics.

This morning my father Willie sent this video and commentary into the farm WhatsApp group. It was completely out of the blue, I wasn’t even sure he knew how to use the camera on his phone (!), but it stopped me in my tracks. This never fails to amaze. It cannot be exaggerated just how poorly Edwulf was that day. It isn't mentioned in this video, but he lost his vision at one stage. For him to just survive, never mind come back and win the Irish Gold Cup, was genuinely remarkable. CheltenhamRacecourse
