Having fun working on a new volumetric flowmaps plugin for UE5. Left is 400 mb 128 frames VDB tornado sequence. Right is a single frame VDB with a static 8x8x8 Volume Flowmap, built in JangaFX Software's VectorayGen. 3.2Mb total.

Unreal 5.3 Preview is out so it's now time to test VDB import with Sparse Volume Textures (SVT) and Heterogeneous Volumes. Combined with Embergen exported simulations this is 🔥.

My local build of #UnrealVDB now supports all lights and Lumen GI. Having GI really grounds the VDBs in the environment and adds so much details IMO. #unrealengine #realtimeVFX #NanoVDB

I've added some user requested features to the #UnrealVDB plugin, including QoL improvements, more control, more console variables, custom VDB AOVs with MRQ and temperature color ramp which could be used in many different ways. #unreal #ue5 #realtimeVFX
