The Tories botched Brexit deal has left us ยฃ90 billion worse per year. The Lib Dems have a plan for a Customs Union with the EU that would bring around ยฃ25 billion to the economy. The Lib Dems will bring a vote on this next week and I hope Labour backbenchers will support us.

I am desperately worried for my extended family in Gaza City. They have no electricity, no water, no food, and now a sniper is inside the Church compound where they are sheltering. My family are not collateral damage. We need an immediate bilateral ceasefire now.

Today I lost the first member of my extended family in Gaza. The Liberal Democrats have been consistently on the side of humanity and peace. We couldn't vote for our full position today. This evening I tried to ask the speaker to bring people together. Sadly I was cut short.

These are only civilians in this church. They are only admitting Christians who are known to the community. They have nothing to do with Hamas. I plea to the Israeli Government to leave them alone. They haven't hurt anybody. I'm not sure they're going to survive the week.

UK recognition of the State of Palestine was a promise made to my great grandfather decades ago. While on its own, recognition wonโt solve anything without further action, it is a down payment on peace. Today we have just a little more hope, and hope is contagious.

Ofwat is a busted regulator with no teeth whatsoever. Thatโs why the Liberal Democrats will replace it with a Clean Water Authority and spend ยฃ10M to recruit sewage inspectors. This would stop water companies from marking their own homework and mean real consequences for sewage dumping.
