And thanks to everyone who threw some money into the pot to sponsor Serge and myself, in our fund-raising efforts Every little helps - and it’s not too late !!

NEW INTERVIEW POST: "When The Facts Change" A 1976-style fiscal crisis is now "a real and present danger", says Professor Jagjit Chadha, until recently the head of the The National Institute for Economic and Social Research National Institute of Economic and Social Research NIESR is, along with the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), the most influential and highly-respected economic think tank in Britain. In 1976, of course, the UK became embroiled in fiscal meltdown, and was forced to go "cap in hand" to the International Monetary Fund for a bailout. "How concerned are you about the state of our public finances?" I asked Prof Chadha, on camera. "I'm very concerned. As concerned as the period leading up to the IMF loan of 1976, that's how much trouble we're in" Here's the free-to-watch trailer for my 45-minute interview with Prof Chadha. And in the next linked message you can gain access to the full conversation 🧵1/2

Here’s some genius music. Legendary “Irish trad” fiddler Kevin Burke - London-born to Sligo parents - plays “Lucy’s Fling” at the Irish Cultural Centre in Hammersmith. Am very pleased to be here supporting live Irish folk music - a genre close to my heart and that of many British people of proud Irish origin.
