A Millionaire Programmer at Microsoft Wrote This Crap:

"Do you need data structures and algorithms to do graphics programming?"

Make Them Pay

"Do you use Jira?"

This morning I was trying to figure out why my game (C++) wouldn't render the boss fight instead of the main game's GUI (bossfights are kind of a minigame)...then I found it. I know many of you know this error all too well.

"Should I learn web development or C?"

How I respond to delusional AI losers these days:

I do Vim so hard it chokes on my massive CPP.

Tonight, I'm hacking on Go Code on my Twitch. I'm making a tool that does mass video crunching to mp4, vp9, and av1 with ffmpeg, then figuring out how to make them better/faster if possible.

Someone asked during this morning's stream how to read/write Regex so I gave a little demo of how I do it.

A couple days ago I spent 30 minutes trying out Java 2025--a language that I haven't used in 20 years--and I have to say I'm impressed. Quite a few annoyances were gone and it was way easier to use. I'm curious to try a larger project with it to see if it is actually improved.

Some people have asked me, "Zed, what's up with all the $ variables in your C++ code?" The reason will shock you:

An Important PSA for Anyone Struggling to Achieve Your Goals in Life:

Someone asked me about C and its terrible error messages, to which I had to reluctantly inform them of the sad truth:

I spent last week finishing off my PowerPoint Killer named after Jeff Bezos. Here's a demo of said product, utilizing said product, to do the video for said demo:

I started working on a new Go course called "Learn to Learn Go the Hard Way" with the premise of showing you how to learn a language using Go's documentation. I kind of don't know if I like it, but I made 15 videos, so I'm going to post them here, as a thread starting with Ex00:

"I've never heard anyone describe code as Boroque."

A short video explaining why doing many small projects is more educational than doing one giant project. Side Note: While many programmers draw on the screen, I'm the one who can actually draw...and paint.

[Zed Learns Vulkan Series] After the stupidity that is OpenGL I decided to try out Vulkan and see if it's as hard as folks say. So far I find Vulkan to be complex, but logically structured and obvious, which I like. Bookmark this thread to follow along.

I'm going to post a series of Go videos showing my development of my video processing tool Vidcrunch. These are recorded live. I'll post each episode as a reply to this post. If you've always wondered how a "real programmer" does things in Go, then bookmark this thread.
