SOUTH ST. PAUL: Officers are on scene after a report of a shooting at an apartment on the 700 block of 12th Ave. N. The initial 911 call came in shortly before 9 p.m., with the caller saying the gunshot victim was deceased. Officers have taped off the building, with traffic on 12th Ave. N. closed as of around 9:45 p.m. There is no confirmed information on the status of the reported victim, but we'll update as it's available.

MAPLE GROVE: Troopers have been dispatched to southbound I-94 north of Hwy. 610 after ICE agents reportedly arrested a driver and left their vehicle unoccupied in the median. A MnDOT traffic camera captured four unmarked vehicles pulled over and officers taking the driver into custody around 3:40 p.m., then continuing southbound. Further details on the incident are not yet available.

The male suspect was wanted for an unknown previous incident and was described as a black male with dreads, wearing a red shirt and a red hat. The pursuit continued off of I-35E onto Lone Oak Road westbound, then to Highway 13, where the suspect reportedly went into the ditch, crashing into a tree a short time later and about 200 feet from the highway. He fled on foot westbound into the woods and as of around 4 p.m., the suspect search is still ongoing, with a wide perimeter in place, a K9 track underway and multiple drones in the air. According to initial radio dispatches, a firearm was located inside a safe that was still inside the ditched vehicle. It’s unclear if the suspect may be armed. The suspect was fighting with the Trooper and then fled on foot across the freeway to the westbound lanes, where he got in the passenger side of another vehicle. The vehicle was last seen in the area of I-94 and Broadway.

The suspect hit spike strips during the pursuit, which deflated the vehicle's tires, and he eventually stops near Mile Marker 54. The rider fled at a high rate of speed and a State Patrol aircraft followed as ground units backed off.
