I seemed to have upset my colleagues when I questioned why more than half a million dollars was being spent on a grant exploring “Indigenous connections to outer space” and whether Aboriginal people “cared for other plants.” How do such projects help Australians who are living in tents, skipping meals, or struggling to pay rent? While people are hurting, the Labor government is spending $1 billion a year on grants like this. Taxpayers deserve to know why.

Police in India have allegedly seized 100,000 forged certificates from 22 universities, with 1 million plus likely used for jobs abroad. I warned about this in August (and asked questions during October Estimates) — 23,000 foreign students in Australia were found with 'purchased' degrees, many in aged care and early childhood. I asked Minister Watt if he’d deport those who committed this fraud. All I got was waffling and gaslighting. The Albanese Government is refusing to act, even though these are clear visa breaches. A $68.5 million budget measure (allocated over three years) intends to provide HIV treatment to people who are not eligible for Medicare. Why are Australian taxpayers funding treatment for non-citizens when we are in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis?

The Australian government is using the UN refugee visa program to intentionally bring radical Islam into our country. 25,000 migrants arrived under the UN refugee program last year, the vast majority coming from Muslim countries. Applications from Christian refugees in Nigeria and South Africa, as well as Syrian Alawites, were excluded. The president of the Australian National Imams Council, Shadi Alsuleiman (and mentor to Wisam Haddad, the ISIS cell leader who radicalised the Bondi terrorist Naveed Akram) released a video in which he promises that "Islam will enter every home in Australia." Australians have a legitimate reason to fear the current government's immigration policies.

Last year, out of the 180,000 permanent visas handed out by the Labor government - only 1 in 3 were actually qualified skilled migrants. This is not the skilled migration Australians were promised. Bringing in a massive number of unskilled migration in the middle of a housing crisis is hurting everyday Australians. A One Nation government will only allow migrants with skills that Australia requires.

During the February Estimates hearings, I pressed the government and the Illicit Tobacco Commissioner on the ineffectiveness of their strategy to combat the illicit tobacco market. Tobacco excise revenue is projected to fall to just $1.9 billion leading into 2029-30, far below the $16 billion-plus previously collected. A clear sign the government does not expect its enforcement efforts to meaningfully reduce the black market. The Commissioner’s own report lists 10 drivers of illicit tobacco yet fails to directly acknowledge that high excise and the resulting price gap are major contributors, despite everyday Australians, including police officers, confirming this reality. Independent data from Roy Morgan shows smoking rates have increased from 16.8% to 17.1% following recent excise hikes, contradicting the government’s claim that higher taxes reduce smoking. Without knowing the true size of the black market, boasting about a 34% increase in seizures of illicit product is meaningless. We cannot measure success when you don’t know the scale of the problem. The government continues to act without reliable data, ignores evidence that contradicts its assumptions, and refuses to confront the policy settings driving the illicit tobacco growth. This is a failure that Australians should not be forced to tolerate. It's costing taxpayers billions in lost revenue. One Nation will take drastic action until the illicit market is wiped out, then return duty to a much lower, more sensible and sustainable rate.

For 60 years, it has been illegal to pay a woman less than a man for the same job. Yet the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) continues to release "gender pay gap" reports that refuse to compare like-for-like roles. They use raw averages that ignore the reality of human choice, i.e. the fact that many women choose to prioritise family and motherhood over "climbing the corporate ladder" or working 80-hour weeks. This isn't about equality; it’s a globalist agenda using flawed statistics to devalue the family unit and sow division between men and women. We need facts, not manufactured grievances. It’s time to stop the spin and start respecting the choices Australian families actually make.

On a motion supporting the people of Persia and the safety of all in the Middle East and globally, I read a letter from Janet Shay, an Iranian woman who escaped the Islamic regime, converted from Islam to Christianity and now lives safely in Australia. Janet calls for honest debate, the freedom to question belief systems, and for clear distinctions between those who live peacefully and those whose convictions threaten public safety. She urged the government to apply consistent standards, learn from Iran's experience, and put Australians' security first. Her message is clear: It's not good enough for our government to call behaviour 'Terrorism' when it's outside of our country and refuse to say the name when it's inside. The safety of Australians must never be sacrificed because politicians are too afraid to have difficult conversations.

I questioned Minister Wong (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and officials regarding the devastating issue of Australian children being abducted to Japan by one parent and entirely cut off from their Australian families due to Japanese domestic law. While I understand the need for diplomatic language, my priority is getting these kids back to their families.

The UK recently completed a trial of a carbon credit system that sets a daily allowance for each person—in effect, a limit on your ability to purchase food, clothing, goods, and travel as you have always done. The limit has been set at 20kg of carbon emissions per day, with food restricted to 2600g. Food manufacturers are cooperating by adding a carbon statement on their packaging to inform consumers how much of their allowance each product consumes. For example, a packet of cheese accounts for 1100g—almost half of your daily carbon allowance. Different foods have varying carbon rates. Root vegetables like potatoes and carrots are relatively low, while red meat incurs the highest charge – so high, in fact, that if you were to spend your entire daily food carbon allowance on red meat, it would buy you 30g of steak—just one mouthful. You may recall I mentioned this in a speech some time ago and was fact-checked. Well, fact-check this! Net zero is supported by the Liberal Party, the Labor Party, and the Nationals. Only One Nation stands firm in defending our agricultural sector from this insane push to control the food supply and hollow out the bush.

I recently questioned the NIAA at Senate Estimates on the ongoing failures of the Closing the Gap initiative. Case in point: out of a recent $40 million grant for the Alice Springs Camp, roughly half was chewed up by administrative salaries rather than direct aid. When pushed for a genuine, independent external audit to see where the money is actually going, the NIAA pointed to internal reviews. ANAO does not conduct the deep financial audits required here. This is just the department monitoring itself. Worse still, when asked if basic welfare payments are enough to survive on in remote areas, the NIAA directed me to the Department of Social Services. How can we close the gap if the leading agency refuses to look at the actual baseline standard of living? A One Nation government will demand transparency and independent audits, ensuring that funding goes to people that need it - not middlemen.

It’s wrong that Australian parents are forced to pay child support to a parent holding their child in Japan contrary to Australian court orders. During this session, the department couldn't tell me how many Aussie parents are trapped in this nightmare, nor how they ensure these funds actually benefit the children. While I welcome news of updates to Japanese domestic law, we must stop enabling parental abduction.

The Labor Government keeps telling you migration is coming down. The data tells a different story. Right now there are about 2.9 million people here on temporary visas and another 1.8 million on permanent non‑citizen visas — a total of roughly 4.7 million non‑citizens. That’s 4.7 million people competing for a home, clogging your roads, and filling your GP waiting rooms. Our infrastructure cannot cope with the scale of this influx. During this Estimates hearing back in February, I questioned Dennis Barnes, the CEO of the infamous Snowy Hydro 2.0 that’s estimated to cost taxpayers $12 billion … for now. This project began without a transparent business case and is currently locked into an anti-competitive contractor structure whilst relying on a cost-plus model that leaves taxpayers carrying the blowouts. Add years of delays, poor early planning, and constant political blame-shifting, and the project looks less like nation-building and more like a multibillion dollar waste of taxpayer money. Despite the project’s spiralling costs and repeated failures, the government continues to shift blame rather than accept responsibility. Barnaby Joyce has openly acknowledged his mistake, yet those overseeing Snowy Hydro 2.0 refuse to show the same accountability. And it’s you. The Australian taxpayers, that are expected to foot the bill. One Nation says: it's time to cut our losses on this white elephant and get back to what works - cheap base-load energy.
