Prof. Mthuli Ncube has expressed satisfaction with the installation of new radiotherapy machines at Parirenyatwa Hospital, funded through the sugar tax on beverages introduced in the 2024 National Budget. The levy is ring-fenced for health, with cancer treatment as the first priority, and he confirmed that installation will be complete in the next few weeks before additional machines are delivered for Parirenyatwa and Mpilo Hospitals. Continuous collections will sustain further procurement of equipment and drugs, with the aim of transforming radiotherapy services within two years, while other targeted taxes such as airtime and gambling levies are also supporting health initiatives including rehabilitation centres for drug abuse.

A SINGLE CURRICULUM A single national curriculum ensures that every child, whether in a city or remote village, has access to the same quality of education. This promotes equity and national cohesion, fostering a shared identity and common values. It also guarantees consistent learning standards, making it easier for students to transfer schools without disadvantage. From a national perspective, it streamlines teacher training, resource allocation, and assessment—allowing for targeted improvements in human capital and research capacity. Ultimately, a unified curriculum helps build a skilled, mobile, and cohesive workforce ready to tackle shared national goals

THE #CAB3 ROADMAP 1. Collate feedback – Committee compiles public input into a written report for Parliament. 2. Bill introduced (week of May 18th) – Minister of Justice gives Second Reading speech explaining each clause. 3. Debate in National Assembly – Committee report is presented. 4. NO REFERENDUM – Bill doesn't touch Chapters 4, 16, or Section 328, the only provisions requiring a referendum.
