Working hard on new 10.0 features. This one is still glass-related :)

You can use dissolve without actually having it dissolve. Maybe you just want your clothes to be on fire :)

Ran into someone using the constellation feature in a cool way!

Just a few more scripts to write and 10.0.0 Early access will begin I'm calling it early access because 10.0 is far from complete but I want people to play with it.

A lot of people use decals with poiyomi, but they don't realize you can select the mesh and use the handy positioning tools.

While fixing some lighting bugs in 10.0, I made it so sub-surface scattering can properly cast light through a summer dress.

New "Squish" feature in Unity

I added spritesheet support to Glitter for poiyomi 10.0 so you can add variety to your glitter shapes.

I've been working on the new 10.0 Dissolve and look forward to showing what it can do soon. But for now its bed time...💤

I added the option to have random colors for the constellation effect. It works similarly to glitter, so it was a simple but nice addition.

Working on improving fur and hair card rendering in poiyomi. I know most people don't use hair like this, but those who do, not to mention clothing and furries, this is a nice feature. Left Old, Right New

I was messing around with DepthFX to silhouette my body through this opaque dress. There's no transparency; it just colors parts with objects behind or not behind it. Maybe I should implement a feature where this happens automatically if the sun is behind you. 🤔

With poiyomi 10.0 supporting sprite sheets you can now animate your glitter. (This is still just one texture read, not much of an additional performance cost other than what comes from using a texture in the first place)

I'm upgrading the 2-pass shader so you can create effects like this without requiring overlapping materials or custom shader work. It'll allow for a lot of other, more normal things, but this one looks cool. This uses two materials, but it's a good example of what I'm trying to achieve.

OK, I'm trying to provide more examples of what you can do because multiple people have told me the feature is dumb, because why would they ever force their head to look at people?

I was working with a 40-poly ice crystal, and I wanted to make it point at people with the new look at function, but it ended up looking fancy on its own. No transparency 👍

Working on improving the pathing module and implementing some tooling for it. The new gradient fill tool lets you easily generate gradient maps.

I got eye tracking working with the look at shader. It's all on one material and obviously it's not perfect but it's a good start. You can make it so it only does this in the camera to make sure you're always looking at the camera for photos.

The look at shader is getting good. It's got distance and FOV falloff for the lookat now.

I added しぐまる 's code to Poiyomi. It stops you from seeing inside people's mesh as easily. It pushes the mesh back so it stays in front of your camera when you get really close. It makes it feel like you can get so much closer.

Poiyomi 10.0 Flipbooks * Gifs now automatically set FPS. * Gifs can now use the raycast positioning tools. * Automatic aspect ratio can be enabled. * Gif to flipbook creation now works on more than just Windows.

Many people don't realize you can distort UVs in Poiyomi and then optionally use the distorted UVs anywhere in Poiyomi by selecting distorted UV from the UV dropdown of any texture.

I was playing around and made a neat shader. I'll throw it in poiyomi so people can play with it.

OK, after the last video, I was randomly typing math in and accidentally figured out how to fix everything wrong in the last video with one slider that performs and looks better overall.

The latest version of Pro is now available on VCC. This was done to make updating Pro as easy as toon, but you can still download the standalone package if you'd like. (more details in comments)

Here's the effect in cutout mode without any post-processing. (worst possible conditions) I can only do so much to keep the flames rising without actually adding geometry, but it looks pretty good all things considered.

Sensitive content

I'm working on physically accurate skin coloring so the models with 10 skin materials can use just one. It's still a work in progress, and the lighting here isn't set up for dark tones, but it's coming along. Also, accurate freckles, complexion, age spots, etc...

The blur shader can now have distance-based falloff based on how far something is behind the surface. I did a bad job of showing this last time, so hopefully these feet will help.

I saw a few people ask about audio link in the last post so I added more audio link options :)

I've been messing with geometric dissolve and it's getting pretty neat.

In Poiyomi 10.0 you can optionally overlap glitter. It is more expensive when enabled but it does look a heck of a lot better.

Changing the color of a texture is pretty lame, so I've been experimenting with different techniques and have stumbled upon a really interesting way to tint the color while preserving perceived brightness.

A lot of people don't realize what you can do with GrabPass, so I made a quick little video covering some things people overlook. (I'm sick)

I significantly improved the depth rimlight. It had a lot of issues I didn't know how to solve back then, but it finally looks great in 10.0. It's the kind of rimlight you'd see in games like Zelda. Renka 🌙 | VTuber Enjoy!
