Today, I accepted the Letters of Credence from Her Excellency Mai Taha Khalil, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Office of the President on Shiv Chanderpaul Drive. I welcomed the opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding relations between Guyana and Egypt.

I met with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer during the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa. Our discussion highlighted the long and shared history between our nations and emphasised our commitment to strengthening our economic and trade relationship. I took the opportunity to update Prime Minister Starmer on Guyana’s new Global Biodiversity Alliance, and we engaged in meaningful dialogue about our collaborative efforts on the Forest and Climate Leaders Partnership. Together, we recognized the importance of deepening our ties in trade, climate finance, and biodiversity. It was a productive meeting, and I look forward to what we can achieve together.
