This evening, I joined staff in Office of the Prime Minister - Uganda for our twice-a-month physical exercise at the Nakasero Primary School playground. This physical exercise programme follows a Cabinet directive requiring Ministries, Departments and Agencies to conduct physical exercise sessions for their staff to combat lifestyle diseases. I commend the staff for embracing this programme and encourage them to continue. Exercise is therapy & only healthy people can do the work effectively. Today, I represented H.E. President Yoweri K Museveni at the burial of Mzee Isanga Edward in Ngoma, Nakaseke District. The President described Mzee Isanga as his longtime friend and a patriot who made significant contributions to the NRA liberation struggle and to the socioeconomic transformation of his community by supporting the establishment of a primary school and a seed secondary school. He said that Mzee Isanga’s death has deprived the country of a wealth creator who was an outstanding livestock farmer. Today, I represented H.E. President Yoweri K Museveni at the burial ceremony of Banura Peter in Rumiina village, Buhimba Town Council, Kikuube District. Banura, 48, was the LCV Chairperson of Kikuube District. He passed away on 4 April 2026 following a motor accident along the Hoima–Fort Portal Road. The President expressed his heartfelt sympathies to Gen. Matayo Kyaligonza and the entire family upon the loss of their son. The President commiserated with the people of Kikuube District and all Ugandans, who have been affected by the tragic death of such a young and patriotic leader. He stated that Banura had earned the trust of the population in Kikuube District because he championed a pro-people agenda by prioritising unity, wealth creation, construction of roads, tourism, and environmental conservation. The President said Banura showed courage by offering leadership in a newly formed district, and that he will be remembered for all the developmental projects that he initiated in Kikuube. I am in Kenya for a two-day working visit together with Hon. Ministers of State, Gen. David Muhoozi (Internal Affairs) and Amos Lugoloobi (Finance), as well as Mr. Robert Mukiza, the Director General of the Uganda Investment Authority. On arrival, I met with Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary, H.E. Musalia Mudavadi, in Nairobi. We held constructive discussions on the warm bilateral relations between our two countries. During the visit, we will engage with diplomatic missions and development institutions that are non-resident in Uganda but serve our country from Kenya, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and partnership.
