End of an era! The last public service of non-AC double decker coaches of the iconic Flying Ranee Express train entering Mumbai Central station this morning. From this evening of 16 July 2023, the train has been upgraded with LHB-class upgraded version of coaches, but sadly will not be a double decker. Could not miss the historic last run of the double decker coaches for anything. They were introduced on the train on 18 December 1979, exactly 43 years six months 29 days. The only double decker train to remain now is the Valsad Fast Passenger, operated by Western Railway.

BLUNDER! Two local trains on the same track on Central Railway at #Mumbai CSMT. A Central Railway spokesperson confirmed the incident and said they are investigating the matter. A train coming from Badlapur was taken on PF 5 instead of PF 4 which was occupied by another local. The local trains have been backed and now movement is restarting. The PF 5 to 8 were blocked and movement was stopped from 3.18pm Now the backing is complete and the movement is starting. There was a signal between these two local trains. CSMT Internal Home for Suburban Platforms was in red condition hence the Motorman stopped the train. Also the distance between the two trains was more than 130 meters.

Here they are. Mumbai Metro Line 4, 4A Thane-Wadala actual trains. The Alstom India today unveiled the rakes of Line 4 with celebration. Alstom is contracted to supply 234 Metropolis metro cars (39 driverless 6-car trainsets), Urbalis Forward CBTC GoA4 signalling, and 5 years of maintenance for Mumbai Metro Line 4 (Green Line).

Brake binding in Koyna Express at Karjat. Train detained this evening between 6:26pm to 6:36pm. Two local trains detained behind it. There is no need to panic. Brake binding is a common issue where brake pads or shoes stay pressed against the wheels or rotors, creating friction that can cause smoke, but it is rarely a dangerous fire hazard. The smoke seen in the video is because of the use of fire extinguisher.

Non-AC door closing EMU local train that arrived at Kurla carshed in Mumbai. Here are the key differences: *The coach is built on an AC EMU shell, but maintaining the various classes of first class (with cushion seats), ladies, the disabled one and others. Hence though vestibular, it has physical partitions to segregate these coaches. *The windows are wider 1,900m with sliding glass panels like buses as compared to 900m windows in existing trains. *The blowers are powerful forcing 10,000 cubic m/hr air into the coach, with two such units in every coach which means 20,000 cubic m/hr air in each coach. *The leg space between the two seats has been increased for a comfortable seating and wider gangway. *The luggage compartment at either end of the train is two times larger than the existing ones. *The doors have been shut and along with glass panels on the top, to improve air circulation, these coaches feature louvered doors (slatted) that allow air movement while keeping doors closed for safety.

⚡Train No. 75680 Karimganj – Agartala MEMU train was entering Patharkandi Station when a motorcyclist suddenly came in front of the train along with his motorcycle and stopped on the track. The Loco Pilot (LP) immediately applied the emergency brakes and stopped the train. LP thought the motorcyclist would not survive. But when he got down and checked, he found that the train had stopped just one foot away from the motorcycle, saving a life.

Agra Cantonment station. RPF bullies drag and beat up Deputy Station Superintendent (DySS) on duty. Incident as per preliminary info: Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express arrived at Agra Cantt at 10.51 am and departed after its scheduled halt. A woman passenger had deboarded the station to buy the famous sweet Petha and was trying to board the train after it had started moving. The Dy SS, noticing the situation, intervened and instructed the train manager over his walkie talkie to stop the train to ensure the passenger's safety. The RPF personnel detained the husband and wife on allegations of alarm chain pulling (ACP), penalised them Rs 1,000. This led to a dispute between RPF personnel and operating staff over the reason for the unscheduled halt. The railways have set up an inquiry and will come up with a sanitised version of the incident.

Nearly 20 years after it was commissioned, India completes its dedicated freight rail corridors, spanning 2,843km (1,766.558 miles) Fully electric lines with high capacity double-stack container trains on Indian broad gauge. Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC): Spans 1,506 km from Dadri (Uttar Pradesh) down to JNPT near Mumbai (Maharashtra). It became fully operational with the inauguration of its final sections. Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC): Spans 1,337 km from Ludhiana (Punjab) to Sonnagar (Bihar). It is fully completed and operational.

Malad station incident CCTV footage. A 31-year-old Mathematics professor was stabbed to death following a minor altercation that escalated inside a Mumbai local train as it approached Malad railway station. The dispute reportedly began over alighting from the crowded coach, after which the attacker pulled out a sharp weapon and stabbed the victim in the abdomen. The victim collapsed at the station and later succumbed to his injuries despite medical assistance. The footage shows the accused running away. The accused has now been arrested within 24 hours of the incident. #Mumbai #MumbaiRailway
