Steven Spielberg brought up how the low angle shot under the horse carriage in Forty Guns (1957) basically blew his mind cause it opened up so many possibilities to him as a kid on what cinema could do. Samuel Fuller was not letting the cinemascope go to waste.

Rewatching one of my favorite films in theaters has revealed to me that A New Leaf was released way too early, cause the darkly macabre sensibility that pervades the film is more humorous now then it was perceived to be in 1970. Elaine May was ahead of the game her whole career.

Love learning that Brian Blessed, who voiced Clayton in Disney's Tarzan, got a second contract deal just for doing the Tarzan yell cause the actor playing Tarzan couldn't do it and Brian did it for them when he was to fly back home and he performed it perfectly on the spot.

Incredibly the plot of Another Thin Man (1939) stops just so we can see uncredited dancers René Rivero Guillén and Ramona Ajón dancing a Cuban Son. It's so mesmerising to watch I don't even mind it messing up the pacing of the film. He moves like he's weightless.
