I don't understand why in SH2R James can't attack nor kill Maria. It served as a subtle hint that James is capable of killing someone he loves, and attacking her with the chainsaw made her scream just like the monsters, hinting at her true nature. Instead, in SH2R James refuses to aim at her, and if the player tries to aim at her she simply complains about the flashlight. While attacking Maria may appear as a useless mechanic, knowing the full story gives it a whole new meaning, and I wish it wasn't left out of the remake. Perhaps they could have added just a little hint that it crosses James' mind for a moment to hurt Maria. #silenthill #silenthill2

Pyramid Head's knife can be unlocked as a weapon by hacking the unpatched physical PS5 version of the game! It was cut from the game, but the data for it still exists. The dead man under the sheet is James, and his mouth is stained white. James finding himself dead in front of the TV foreshadows the moment he watches the videotape and sees the truth. He can't bring himself to pull the sheet, because he can't face himself. The white stain on his mouth seems to be a reference to the White Claudia that he drinks just before watching the videotape in the Bliss ending, a drug which causes him to hallucinate that he's in the videotape with Mary. A sinister detail in the Maria ending, James doesn't read Mary's letter, he just disregards of it and puts it in his pocket. This is why Mary doesn't recite her letter in this ending, unlike in OG SH2. The nurse's head is translucent, and there's fluid and something pulsating inside, that keeps moving even after they die. Nurses also have a baby's lower face. SH2R has a secret alternative Dog Ending, accessible only on the PS5 physical disc of the game. Your game version must be v1.00 to get this ending (the unpatched version that came with the disc). If you disable the music in the settings, you'll hear a man whispering something to James when you stand under any street lamp in the Otherworld town! The inventory's background shows the moment James kills Mary from the OG SH2 (see end of the video). At first it's slow and blurry because James is getting flashbacks but he's in denial, and it becomes clearer and faster after the Pyramid Heads fight, when he accepts the truth. The inventory's background also changes depending on James' health state, it can appear sped up, shaking, and with colored filters over it. #silenthill #silenthill2 #silenthill2remake

If you leave him idle while in low health he'll show a bit of his deranged side, will often get paranoid that something is behind him, and sometimes will hallucinate that someone is grabbing his arm or touching his head. #silenthill #silenthill2 #silenthill2remake

There's a big hidden secret in this cutscene; The real reason Angela panics is because she notices someone spying on her and James. By hacking the camera we see that she notices them and talks to them, not to James, and by disabling music and ambience we can hear their footsteps and the rustle of clothes. While it's possible she saw her father, that person/monster stays there after she leaves, and spies on James while he digs up the director's box. By hacking the camera in the next cutscene we see that James notices them and gets startled. #silenthill #silenthill2 #silenthill2remake

A subtle hint Maria isn't real, she doesn't get soaked by the rain. You can see James gets soaked slowly, but not her. The reason he asks "Maria.. What are you talking about?" might be because he noticed the rain doesn't affect her, and he knows something's off about her.
