Today at Government House, Asaba, I received the Implementation Delegation from the Nigerian Army Headquarters, led by Major General Thompson Ugiagbe, on a consultative visit to the South-South following the creation of the new 83 Division of the Nigerian Army. I commended Mr. President for this visionary and audacious step to further strengthen our national security architecture. However, I urged the delegation to give due consideration to Delta State’s unique strategic position as a state that hosts key and sensitive national assets and serves as a critical gateway linking the South-East, South-South, South-West and North-Central regions. For these reasons, I strongly advocated that the Headquarters of the new 83 Division be located in Delta State. This is not merely an appeal for consideration; it is an offer of partnership. My administration is prepared to provide the land and necessary support, including co-funding, to facilitate the effective take-off of the new formation. At a time when strengthening our national security requires collective responsibility, Delta State stands ready to work with the Federal Government and the Nigerian Army in building a safer, more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

Today, as the sole governorship aspirant of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, I participated in the primary election exercise in Ward 3, Okpe LGA. The APC governorship primary was peaceful and rancour-free across the 270 wards in the state, and I appreciate the model adopted by the party. Addressing newsmen after the primary election, I urged those who emerged victorious to extend the hand of fellowship to their opponents. Now, we are ready and fully prepared for the 2027 general elections.

Today, in line with the second pillar of the More Agenda, which is Opportunities for All, I presented 60- 2025 model of Toyota Landcruiser Prado Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and 5 Toyota Landcruiser SUV to our revered traditional rulers at Government House, Asaba. The gesture is to enable them carry out their functions with greater ease and convenience, bearing in mind that most of them operate in very rural and rugged terrain. It is also a demonstration of appreciation by our administration for their role in ensuring peace and stability in their kingdoms and by extension the state and the country. As a government, we are pleased with the support and cooperation of the traditional rulers in Delta State, reason being that, the peace we largely enjoy in this state is because of their cooperation and collaboration with the government and security agencies.
