Fig lets Talbott's jab fall just short and spins him around with a kick A moment later, Talbott steps in with a jab and pauses for a beat, drawing out the kick, before slamming his right hand into Fig's jaw as he's on one leg

Kai Asakura hits a cute little shifting combo to drop Cameron Smotherman

When you've spent a million hours mastering BJJ and then try to do it in a real fight

This is an interesting punch

Ruffy interrupts Chandler's takedown with a downblock and bonks him with an uppercut, turning Chandler into a cartoon character

Belal sneaks in a head kick after his lead hook has missed Since his hips and shoulders have already rotated throwing the punch and the kick trails in behind, it's very difficult to see coming, without the usual tell of a head kick

Petr Yan nearly suffered a CAREER-ENDING cortisol spike after Fig flipped his grunt while he was mid southpawmaxxing It wasn't until the 2nd Merab fight when he realized that munting and mogging moids was more important than trying to sillymaxx with stance switches

Swanson disguising his rear hand, leaning over his hip & launching off the ball of his rear foot His hips & shoulders rotate before the punch comes, so there's very little tell and it's super fast

One thing that's kinda neat about Tsarukyan is that his incredible flexibility and athleticism lets him kick hard and not worry too much about them getting caught.

Aljo drawing out Zalal's knee and sweeping him on his ass

Pavel Andrusca hits a Cormier-style weave into outside step high crotch

Early in their fight, Jean Silva would try to control Allen's lead hand to draw out his rear so he could counter Allen messed up his timing for counters by flicking out quick straight lefts without weight transfer, shaving time off the delivery and eschewing the usual tells

Aljo corners a tired Zalal early in round 4, cutting off his circling with leg kicks, then exploiting the transition to strike into a takedown

Strickland uses his lead uppercut to stand Fluffy up for a right hand as he changes levels

Martinez setting up just outside jabbing range, encouraging Chito to step into him to land it, then countering his jab

Prates using the threat of his elbows to pivot off and avoid the cage

Parnasse sniping Hooker with body and head kicks until he doesn't know where to block

I'm begging game devs to have fighters do mocap on pads instead of shadowboxing

Ruffy having some fun at the expense of Chandler's noggin

Yadong hits a slick deep half escape on Umar

The lead leg headkicks were a clever look from Gaethje. Ilia never counters these and whenever he threw it, Ilia would have to keep his right hand pinned at his head, giving Gaethje time and space to circle away

Article about why Umar's striking doesn't pair very well with his wrestling coming after I finish editing it Until then, enjoy Usman Nurmagomedov hitting slick takedown entries that get him onto his opponent's hips instead of onto the floor in front of him

Gaethje's hands are so hard that he kept snapping Topuria's head back and busting up his face with a little swatting jab, thrown with very little power and not even landing on the big knuckles The quick release and downward trajectory made it difficult for Ilia to get outside or underneath it

Ilia beating Oliveira's leg kicks with his jab Hard to ask too much of Oliveira given how quick Ilia did him, but I was disappointed all his kicks in this fight came off his rear leg His lead leg had more potential to threaten Ilia's entries/level changes

Asakura would initiate blitzes with his rear hand throughout the fight, conditioning his opponent to duck and cover, then he exploited the reaction by using his rear hand to set up a step-up head kick

Oliveira worked Max's leg to cut off his circling Max was forced to stand in place and pick it up to check, which allowed Oliveira to force transitions, using his clinch threat to throw off Holloway's positioning and force him to the cage

Chito shuts down Jourdain's calf kicks and kicks his thigh up like a real man

Ilia has been looking for that counter right hand knockout for a while and he finally found it against Oliveira

Do not give your leg to Armenian high crotch goblin, Arsen Baghryan

Aiemann shutting O'Malley down with the cross armed guard Or as they call it on the mean streets of Montréal, the Block Québécois

Kai shows his rear hand to make opponent cover up or retreat and takes an angle outside his stance

Topuria bails on back mount right into an anaconda choke

How Ilia Topuria Became the Greatest Puncher in MMA 🧵 After destroying another all time great in only a few minutes, Topuria has more than solidified himself as the greatest puncher the sport has seen I look at the skills & setups that went into KOing out your fav fighters

Yan using his shin as a wedge to create space and peel Merab off his back or keep him from establishing position. A common tactic in Muay Thai to nullify clinchers and prevent them from bringing their hips in.

Movsar defends a guillotine like he's in WWE

Swanson disguising his rear hand, leaning over his hip & launching off the ball of his rear foot His hips & shoulders rotate before the punch comes, so there's very little tell and it's super fast
