For our wedding anniversary, we were supposed to fly to mainland Vietnam and Danang, but the night before we realised we needed a visa and had forgotten. So we changed everything, routed through Bangkok, and stayed awake the whole night in airport terminals before finally reaching Phu Quoc. And somehow, that messy journey made the sunset over the Gulf of Thailand feel even more like a quiet gift.
