It is easy and cheap to lecture protesting Iranians about international agreements. To say that other countries must not carry out military interventions because it would violate Iran’s right to self-determination. But Iran is not the same as the machinery of violence that holds 100 million people hostage. Iran is precisely those people whose right to self-determination has been taken away. That is why they are calling for strikes inside their country against the apparatus of oppression — because they themselves have no weapons. They are calling on the United States for help, because Europe merely watches from the sidelines and has practiced appeasement toward the Islamist dictatorship for decades. The longer we wait, the more Iranians will be slaughtered on their own streets while demanding freedom. We must listen to the will of the Iranian people themselves, rather than pretending we know better. This week, Iranians living in Finland gathered in Helsinki in front of the U.S. Embassy to call on Trump to strike — and strike hard. This deserves our full support. When will there be a better opportunity to bring down a dictatorship at the core of the axis of evil than now?

SEND THEM BACK. This is the clear message of the Europeans, who are tired of endless rapes and murders in their home countries. The plenary session in Strasbourg today voted in favour of the return regulation, which was engineered by the nationalist parties on the right. The Council and Parliament reached an agreement on the issue, and now it is possible to return illegal migrants more easily to third countries. The screaming of the radical left was music to my ears. They will not stop us.

The EU continues to pursue a diplomatic solution and understanding towards the Islamic regime. Understanding what exactly? Public executions? Torture? State-sponsored terror? The devil cannot be cured. The only way to end the suffering of the Iranian people is through force that will remove the Islamic regime from power.

Europe has shamed us all. It chose cheap gas prices over the lives of Iranian people. It chose to give this regime a chance to recover, instead of demanding it be destroyed. In the meantime, the Islamic regime will continue executing innocent Iranians. It will continue oppressing the people and silencing their voices. Today, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited the European Parliament for a hearing. I called on him to organise a coalition of the willing from NATO countries to carry out an operation in Iran targeting the leadership of the regime. The regime is a slaughterhouse for its own people. And because it funds terrorism, European event venues repeatedly turn into slaughterhouses as well. NATO must defend itself by striking at the spider behind the web of terrorism. That would also be the greatest gift you could give to the brave Iranians for their sacrifice.
