ELON NEWS: Here is Elon Musk's full virtual conversation at the G20 Innovation Ministerial in Chapel Hill, N.C., hosted by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and OSTP Director Michael Kratsios. Highlights include: - He said AI already faces a power crisis, with a consensus 15-gigawatt shortfall in 2027 as chip output rises 40–50% a year and power outside China rises 10–20%. - Google and Anthropic are leasing SpaceX compute because SpaceX built its own plants. - He estimated digital AI could add $20–30 trillion a year to the global economy, said AI will handle any digital work by end of 2027, and predicted software writing will be “Stockfish-level” in 12–18 months, beating humans the way a phone engine beats Magnus Carlsen. - He forecast well over a billion humanoid robots in 10 years, each about 5× as productive as a human. - He said new tech should be default legal, criticized heavy EU rules, and said policy should favor startups over incumbents. He said serious - AI talk happens on X.
