A man has been arrested following an Incident in Terminal 1 at Dublin Airport this morning. Multiple videos and photos sourced online show the moments when a man started damaging Gate 107 on Pier 1 in a fit of rage after reportedly missing his flight. The incident took place today at approximately 07:20 when a man reportedly missed his flight. Following a few minutes of disruption, Airport police arrived and arrested the man. Seen this RTÉ archive on TikTok this evening and couldn’t go without sharing it!! In 1987, Aer Lingus operated a special flight for the children of Ballymun as part of International Children’s Day. They hosted 400 primary school kids and took them up on a Boeing B747 for a spin over Ballymun and the east coast. The flight was called the ‘Ballymun Special’ under the Flight number EI2992. The great thing was that Aer Lingus, Aer Rianta and Cie didn’t charge a thing for this experience! There has been a lot of talk about the NOAA Lockheed WP-3D Orion aircraft in Shannon this week. The aircraft, N42RF aka “Kermit” is in Shannon for the next while as they monitor Storm Éowyn which hits Ireland on Friday morning! Q: What do scientists onboard do?🤔 Scientists aboard the aircraft deploy GPS dropwindsondes as NOAA pilot and navigate the P-3 through the hurricane/storm. These instruments continuously transmit measurements of pressure, humidity, temperature, and wind direction and speed as they fall toward the sea, providing a detailed look at the structure of the storm and its intensity. The P-3s' tail Doppler radar and lower fuselage radar systems, meanwhile, scan the storm vertically and horizontally, giving scientists and forecasters a real-time look at the storm. The P-3s can also deploy probes called bathythermographs that measure the temperature of the sea. 🚨 This is the moment Delta Airlines flight DL17 declared an emergency and made an emergency descent due to a pressurisation issue onboard. A man was arrested at Dublin Airport this afternoon following an incident in which a knife was reportedly waved around. The incident took place around midday today at the Terminal 1 Mezzanine level which is before Airport Security. Airport Police responded quickly and deescalated the situation, the man dropped the knife and surrendered himself to Airport police. Thankfully there were no reported injuries. A great video put together by the Irish Defence Forces on the highest drug seizure of the state in History. During this seizure, the MV Matthew attempted to flee the Irish Naval service and discard drugs.
