TVK has given deputy general secretary position to Sundeep Anand, son of DMK MP S Jegathrakshagan and owner of Accord Distilleries, a supplier to Tamil Nadu's TASMAC. TVK's own minister Aadhav Arjuna has raised allegations against Accord. It raises questions of TVK and DMK too; its own MP's son has joined a rival party. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

Abusive language used by DMK leaders has been made a central election plank by CM Joseph Vijay for the Maduranthakam and Dharapuram bypolls. DMK leaders including Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin are raising valid public issues, but frequently use distasteful language in campaigns. This has pushed the public issues back, much to DMK's disadvantage and TVK's advantage. They are asking people not to vote for DMK based on this. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

CM Vijay's government is a 'rule of cult' with weak governance, wrote retired IAS officer MG Devasahayan in The Print. T.N. Raghu agreed with it, while I disagreed with a few points, including the tone of the article which felt like an extended rant. A glimpse of our discussion on it. There are many DMK leaders with foul mouths, but MK Stalin has behaved like a statesman during his Chief Minister tenure. Unlike MGR or Jayalalithaa, CM Vijay has no reasons for personal enmity with DMK; in fact he's been a friend of Udhayanidhi Stalin. This is why his belligerent speech in the assembly has raised eyebrows. However, Stalin's video on Thursday, though statesman-like is the start of DMK's campaign for the bypoll. It will be an emotional campaign where insult of the former CM will be a plank. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

DMK is raising public issues against TVK government, but its impact is diluted by the distasteful language of some leaders on stage and the abusive discourse of their ecosystem on social media. Even people who find issues against TVK govt may not vote for DMK because of this. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

Were TVK MLA Mustafa's comments about DMK being an anti-muslim political party justified? There are a lot of criticisms against DMK but definitely not on the secularism aspect. In fact right wing organisations and BJP have criticised the DMK for pandering to Muslims. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

Livestreaming Tamil Nadu assembly proceedings is one of the biggest achievements of the TVK government under CM Vijay, I feel. Larger public is lapping it up on TV and YouTube, watching and creating reels and discussing it threadbare. This has reduced the gap between the government and people and made government procedures more accessible. With T.N. Raghu on GoalTalk. Watch the full discussion on TVK government's first 100 days:

TVK government under CM Vijay is using sports to curb the drug problem among youngsters. The allocation in their first budget for sports has gone up by 80%. They are building on the gains achieved under then Deputy CM Udhayanidhi, as well as CM Edappadi Palaniswami. Listen to what T.N. Raghu has to say about how medal winners are now being honoured by the government immediately. He recalls Dinesh Karthik and Sharat Kamal from 2007 as well. On GoalTalk

The young TVK government has some lethargy in the bureaucratic machinery, which is visible in Chennai's monsoon preparedness works. Usually the MAWS minister would have carried out a few review meetings at Ripon buildings itself but this time it hasn't happened. Chief Minister Vijay is the MAWS minister; if not him, some other ministers can be deputed. The TVK government also needs a more proactive chief secretary who gets more work done is what many in the bureaucracy feel. We shot this on Tuesday. A few days later, the chief secretary has conducted a spot inspection in Chennai. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

School education minister Rajmohan using words like 'angels' for the protesting sanitary workers is needless. Instead the TVK government should listen to them and see what best can be done to resolve their issues. This was recorded on Tuesday, published on Thursday. TVK's ministers went and met the sanitary workers after which they called off the protests. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

While criticising Udhayanidhi Stalin for his Thanjavur speech, TVK minister Rajmohan made the same crass mistake by using pic of an actress. DMK ecosystem's questions on lack of action on women complaints against TVK cadres is valid. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu.

Is Udhayanidhi Stalin a habitual offender with respect to crass language? Sometime ago, he said an "item song" is left to shoot in the assembly. He has also spoken vulgarly about VK Sasikala and Edappadi Palaniswami. However, he once reprimanded former Minister Govi Chezian when he used the words 'aanmai' on stage. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu

Why did DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai send legal notice to a young TVK MLA? Why did you not file a case against Jose Charles Martin who made nasty personal remarks against Udhayanidhi Stalin? T.N. Raghu @ TNR and my comments discussion in GoalTalk last week. 👇

Making Chennai Mayor Priya question Chief Minister Vijay directly is a smart move by DMK given that it lost significant votes among women and dalits. But speeches of other senior leaders like Tha Mo Anbarasan and TR Baalu was neither civil nor right. On GoalTalk with T.N. Raghu @ TNR

Has DMK abandoned controversial ex-minister V Senthil Balaji? When the DVAC raided ex-minister EV Velu, party chief MK Stalin issued a statement within 2 hours. But when DVAC raided Senthil Balaji, neither Stalin nor Udhayanidhi or Kanimozhi issued any statement. The DMK's official condemnation post on Twitter did not have the words Senthil or Balaji. Sources say the leadership does not want to be seen as supporting Senthil Balaji, though they do maintain strong ties. They can't afford to, he knows too much. With T.N. Raghu on GoalTalk

CM Vijay's decision on the Parandur airport project is a Hobson's choice. Chennai needs a new airport but the decision presents a conflict between Vijay's two images: urbanist and a politician who's promised farmers that he's against it. On GoalTalk with T N Raghu
