🤯 Look at these two identical apps making $150K+ MRR Same niche. Same mascot concept. and they were launched less than a month apart. They are running the exact same psychological playbook: ➡️open with an animated brain mascot ➡️remove user shame and position the app as the savior ➡️calculate the exact number of years the user is wasting on their phone ➡️force a physical "pledge" (holding and tapping) ➡️ use a decoy pricing (Annual vs Weekly). But if you try to close the paywall? ✅ Unrot drops a "93% OFF" limited-time offer ✅ Brainrot drops a "50% OFF FOREVER" limited-time offer the similarities are incredible.

imagine making $100K/mo from a manifestation app that launched 3 months ago. with 65K installs/mo and the paywall is a "note from the team" saying they have too much demand. -asks for notification permission and an App Store RATING before you've even used the app - referral code prompt early in the flow. growth loop from step one - asks your name, city, sexuality, age, kids, what you do for work, how you feel about it - you add important people BY NAME and describe them - asks what you're manifesting, your dream city, dream home type, dream partner - generates personalized audio stories from ALL of this. daily - the paywall is a "note from the team" saying they have overwhelming demand - the trial as helping "manage the load and keep things smooth for all" - single price. $6.99/week. no annual. no monthly. no decoy. just one option

Imagine making $450,000/mo from an app that tells you "you are enough” every morning. That's "I Am," a daily affirmations app with 150K installs/month. - opens with "20 million+ lives changed" social proof. immediately. - 20+ steps of deeply personal questions about your life - you pick custom app icons and themes mid-onboarding - halfway through, a bundle offer for 6 RELATED apps pops up - soft paywall. you can dismiss it - only ONE option: 3-day free trial into $35.99/yr - visual 3-day timeline so you see exactly when you'd be charged - "remind me before trial ends" toggle. trust builder - by the time you see the price you've already customized the entire app

🤯 Unrot, a screen time blocker app making $250k/mo. I looked at two different versions of the onboarding flow, they completely gutted the first half of their funnel. Here is what changed: The Old Flow: - 10+ screens of passive text to tell a story about doomscrolling. - Play a 30-second breathing mini-game to demo the app. ✅ Paywall was a single screen: Monthly vs. Annual The New Flow: - Replaced the text story with a simulated chat. You tap pre-written options to talk to a "Brain" mascot. - Killed the 30-second breathing game. Replaced it with simple visual diagrams. ✅ Paywall is now a 2-screen sequence ending in a 93% off exit-intent pop-up.

Imagine making $450,000/mo from a bible app. a bible app. a category most builders ignore. Haven has 21 onboarding steps, a chatbot that asks you to type out your deepest struggles, $6.99/week. no decoys. - chatbot-style intake, manual text input. not multiple choice. you TYPE your struggles - "relationship problems," "anxiety," whatever you're going through. manually typed. vulnerable - rating prompt during the opening carousel. 5-star reviews harvested before any friction - notification permission framed as "spiritual discipline, made easier" - "analyzing your responses..." screen. manufactures the feeling of complex computation - the paywall doesn't show features. it shows a personalized BIBLE VERSE - one single option. 7-day trial → $6.99/week. no annual. no tiers. - "notify me before my trial ends" toggle right above the CTA - 250K people a month download this. $450K/mo

Olive makes $150,000/month from a food scanner app. A warm, illustrated brand led by a friendly mascot. • 17-step onboarding with fear-based messaging • collects allergies, restrictions, specific additives • asks for a rating before you've even used the app • 3-screen paywall sequence • value demo → trial reminder → pricing • free trial locked to yearly plan • monthly is the decoy • CTA says "Try for $0.00" • account creation happen after you've already paid

I promise you, your paywall is leaving money on the table. Look at how hard Yazio fight for the conversion: 1. Hyper-specific goal date 2. Immediate social proof 3. Aggressive decoy pricing But the genius part happens if you try to exit: they intercept you with a game. ❌ You click close. 🎡 A roulette wheel appears. 📉 First spin: You win a boring 5% off. 🔥 Second spin: You hit the "75% OFF FOREVER" jackpot. By making the user "work" for the final One-Time Offer, they completely override logical price objections with a massive dopamine spike. Insane conversion mechanics.

$55,000/month from an app that teaches you how to sew? while VC-backed startups bleed cash in fitness and productivity, SewPal applies hardcore monetization to a sleepy hobbyist category. - terms and privacy acceptance screen first. gets the first "agree" tap. low friction. momentum started - ATT prompt fires immediately after → two permissions captured before any cognitive load - asks about your skill level and specific frustrations - you're not describing your interests. you're admitting your FAILURES. the app is now the cure - dedicated full-screen review farming page. "help us grow!" you haven't sewn anything yet - "design your trial" paywall. two options: free 7 days or 1 month for $1.99 - there IS no monthly plan. both are bundled with $29.99/year auto-renewal - "remind me before trial ends" toggle. you tap it to protect yourself. it triggers the PUSH NOTIFICATION prompt. your fear of forgetting to cancel just opted you into marketing - "unlock 200+ projects worth over $2,000." the $29.99/year suddenly looks like a 98% discount
