Me when I already own a Switch 2...

You love to see it.

This is basically how many non-Metroid fans reacted to that Ravenous trailer.

It's sad knowing how broken up Erin Fitzgerald was about not being brought back to voice Chie for P4R. But if they HAD to replace her, Anne Yatco is a really good choice. She definitely did her homework on Chie. She even sounded a bit like Erin with her rendition of this line.

So I played an hour of Elden Ring. I mean I knew what I was getting myself into, but JEEZUS... Also you can tell this is my first FromSoft game, because I have no idea what the hell I am doing. I'll try playing more but there's a reason I can never get into these type of games.

You guys have no idea how insane Camilla sounds in Japanese. I'm not even joking, her voice is pure ASMR material.

Memes aside, Xenoblade Chronicles really does have some of the best English voice acting you're ever gonna find in any Nintendo game. Huge props to whoever was in charge of the voice directing. And to the cast for such brilliant performances, especially Adam Howden as Shulk.

Combat so far doesn't feel great. It really is just mashing square. Spider-Man is kind of the same thing, but at least he's quick and nimble, which made combat feel more free flowing. Here, it feels heavy and clunky. Also the camera is so bad, it makes it hard to keep focus.

Ninja Gaiden 2, meanwhile:

It took A LOT of trial and error, but I FINALLY defeated my first boss in Elden Ring. Margit, the Fell Omen. Granted, I did have to use a lot of assistance and just pure luck to put him away. Thank you, ashes. Gotta say, the bosses in Elden Ring look pretty kickass.

I gotta say, for a game that came out in 1997, this moment is pretty badass. I can totally believe people who played this game when it came out were collectively losing their minds when they saw this for the very first time.

Okay, I'm not gonna lie. This scene looks way more terrifying in OG FF7 than it did in Rebirth. Maybe it's of the game looking the way that it does due to the PS1's limitations, that whenever a CG cutscene like this pops up, it makes it feel more harrowing.

...You've got to be joking.

"Be wary of crab?" I mean, I don't see the big deal. They're just a bunch of cra- HOLY SHIT!

Whatever IntSys paid Amelia Tyler, they got more than their money's worth from her. Kalla's voice just tickles a certain part of my brain. I could listen to her speak for hours. It is HEAVENLY, much like her.

Here is the SECOND biggest mindblowing moment in the Xenoblade series. Funny enough, also in Xenoblade 2. Again, the implications this brought at the time were crazy.

I'm glad Nintendo went with a different studio for Fortune Weave's cutscenes. The 2D-like, cel-shaded cutscenes in Three Houses just weren't very good. Those ones were done by Sanzigen. For Fortune's Weave, it was collaborative effort, but these were primarily done by Shirogumi.

Finally learned how to dual-wield in Elden Ring and wow this feels SO MUCH BETTER! To be honest, I didn't know how to feel at first about the attacks being locked to the shoulder buttons. But after playing this game for a while, it makes more sense to me now.

I don't know what's more amazing, the fact that Nintendo managed to get the entire main cast of Xenoblade Chronicles back to voice new lines. Or the fact that Reyn's VA sounds almost the exact same after having not voiced him for nearly 15 YEARS. It's like he never left.

I defeated Leonine Misbegotten, my second boss in Elden Ring! It took me a few tries, but once I figured out the patterns, he was far easier to deal with than Margit. Now I get why people consider him a tutorial boss, he's meant to teach you the fundamentals of dodging.

Okay, so I played some more Elden Ring. Spent the past 3-4 hours just wandering the world and grinding some runes. I'm starting to understand things a tiny bit better. I'm sure this is still surface level stuff, but I do feel like I'm improving a bit compared to last night.

Here's more proof if that clip alone wasn't enough for you. Just skip to final few seconds. LITERAL ASMR.

God...fighting Jenova again while Aerith's theme is still playing? This game is evil, man.

I'm calling shenanigans if Fortune's Weave doesn't get so much as a nomination for Best Score and Music at The Game Awards this year. Spotify be damned. Because the music in this game is FANTASTIC!
