Finally learned how to dual-wield in Elden Ring and wow this feels SO MUCH BETTER! To be honest, I didn't know how to feel at first about the attacks being locked to the shoulder buttons. But after playing this game for a while, it makes more sense to me now.

It's called power stancing which you dual wield two weapons in the same classes. It's introduced and peak in DS2. If you imagine L1/L2 and R1/R2 as you character left and right hands movements the control makes perfect sense. Similar to splatoon gyro as head movement aiming.

You can do jump attacks with them, too. Probably one of the coolest moves you can pull off.

Powerstanced straight swords and curved swords (we abbreviate them to psss and pscs) are two of the best powerstanced movesets in the game. Fast swings and huge DPS, just keep an eye on that stamina bar! Also, this is some impressive no lock-on gameplay 👀

I still swap the right hand light attack with a face button and put use item on the bumper because even knowing that the layout makes sense doesn't make it comfortable to me.

you do whatever feels best for you, but for a newer player I would always suggest turtling behind a shield and abusing guard counters. But hey if dual wielding does it for you then more power to you

Dual straight swords have pretty good moveset ngl, especially jump attack

get the nagakiba and pair it with the reed katana that came with the starting class, makes for a pretty fun bleed build

Don't forget you can also use the double attack button while rolling, running, and jumping to do a double attack version of those moves Each weapon type has a unique double attack animation; if dual wielding appeals to you, try them all and see which one calls to you
