The last geoeffective coronal hole high-speed-stream impact we had perfectly lined up with the Venezuela earthquake doublet (M7.2 & M7.2) and the M7.2 earthquake that hit Japan on June 24th... The last 48 hours have been busy for the Sun 💥 First is a plasma eruption from 4482 (left side) followed by a giant plasma filament launch just above. We see the large trans-equatorial coronal hole rotating to geoeffective position, and just below it a 2.7 C-flare from newly developed AR4485 creating a coronal shockwave and general plasma instability for the entire Earth-facing region (watch how the plasma disturbance shifts upwards to the plasma filament and to the left to AR4482). Not guaranteed, but today's ripe for bigger activity!

FIREBALL OVER WASHINGTON STATE MARCH 28th! This marks the 11th fireball event with 100+ observer reports across the USA in the month of March. Many other fireballs have flown in this month as well that have been also similar in brightness, duration, etc but were at really odd hours so weren't seen by too many people. Most of these fireballs are coming from the anti-solar direction and could be debris traveling in advance of other larger fragments or even a BIG ONE. The currently anti-solar direction is exactly towards the trajectory path of Interstellar #3IATLAS during its perihelion in Oct/November exactly along the ecliptic plane in-between the orbits of Earth and Mars.

Check the broad coronal loops of 4478 though connecting wide across its surroundings. It's clearly holding back a lot of latent energy and plasma and if it pops off we could potentially witness a major solar flare event (X5.0+)

I'm currently without grid power (running on solar) in Pennsylvania where thunderstorms last night ripped through the area. There was almost a shockwave like impact when they first arrived. 1" of rain in ~20 minutes, lightning strikes over the area and tons of cloud to cloud discharges. This is the biggest tree I found that came down, directly on a large sweep of lines. Power is expected to be restored Tuesday or Wednesday... Tens of thousands are without power. There are localized zones where huge trees came down, thick healthy branches twisted and ripped off, and power lines are down all over. Four BIG trees down just in the 2 blocks around where I am clearly in a rough alignment, almost like a mini tornado swept through... This morning I did an extensive survey of the area, some areas were unaffected, others look like war zones. I'll do my best to release an update on this but the solar system i'm running off of is limited in capability.

Another electrically supercharged storm rolled across Pennsylvania last night, with emergency tornado alerts being sent off at dusk, and the end result was power was knocked out for more places. Here is another video of some of the damage from the July 4th storm of fury. Crews are working hard to restore access to the grid for tens of thousands, and cleanup has begun, but a lot of people are very shaken up from this ordeal. Nothing like this has been experienced in Central PA in a loooong time. All-time historic long-duration heat record was set for Philly from this heat dome. Based on what we're observing geophysically, welcome to the new normal.
