Over 3kg gold ornaments recovered by Bidhannagar police from the residence of a good friend of arrested #TMC leader Sabyasachi Dutta. That good friend too is from TMC, happens to be a Zila Parishad member in Nadia. Reminds us of now suspended TMC leader Partha Chatterjee. Over 50 crore cash was recovered from his good friend’s residence that eventually led to his arrest in connection with SSC scam in 2022. Sabyasachi Dutta was the former mayor of Bidhannagar corporation. He switched sides and joined #BJP ahead of 2021 elections. Later returned to TMC in 2021. Arrested by police on charges of extortion on June 8, a month after BJP came to power in #Bengal in 2026

Had they published data on a regular basis - as & when matters were adjudicated - had they published data per 1 lakh people basis - they wouldn’t have to release data of 29 lakh people in one go, as they have done - which is of course a heavier file. But CJI laments it’s only in Bengal that SIR is creating so much noise

I don’t support the selective outrage of celebrities, most of them stayed quiet when a JU student was ragged to death, also sexually assaulted, yet at this hour of people’s united fight against rape, no one has the right to hijack the movement. Had the same happened to a Jadavpur University or Presidency student, they would have called it heckling, then why isn’t this called out as heckling? They were singing the other day, that Bangladeshi song “desh ta tomar baper naki”… very good … by that logic this protest too isn’t anyone’s property.
