🇨🇦🇺🇸 US approves Canadian-designed icebreaker for Arctic cutters The United States has approved Seaspan’s Multi-Purpose Icebreaker design as the baseline for the US Coast Guard’s new Arctic Security Cutters, the Canadian company said on Jan 7. Under the ICE Pact, two hulls will be built in Finland and up to four in the US, alongside full transfer of design, engineering data, and supply chains. The Polar Class 4 vessels will displace up to 9,000 tonnes, have a 60-day endurance, a range of 12,000 nautical miles, and the capability to break ice up to 1.22 metres thick.

We had the opportunity to capture one of the world’s most advanced drill ships, Noble Globetrotter, during her highly specialized transit through the Bosphorus. Built for ultra-deepwater operations, extreme conditions, and accommodating up to 180 crew, she stands as a striking example of offshore engineering at its peak. Our cameras were in position as she made her passage, documenting a rare moment on one of the world’s most challenging waterways. Her agency operations were successfully managed by Transbosphor
