This boy remains composed and calm under a barrage of claps to his face from his mother who is also accused of being abusive to her husband. The woman, said to be from Gweru allegedly turned onto the boy after he refrained her from assaulting his father. Seeff Zimbabwe has embarked on a campaign to get millions of Zimbabweans in the Diaspora to invest in properties back home. Last week the real estate company put together a property exhibition show in Birmingham in the UK which was sold out with 1 500 Zimbabweans attending. This was the biggest business engagement gathering by Zimbabweans in Birmingham. 80 delegates from 38 Zimbabwean property companies including CBZ Bank and its CEO travelled to Birmingham for the event. Seeff Zimbabwe managing director, Patience Patongamwoyo said her company has come up with packages tailor-made for the Diaspora and these include properties for investment and properties for their retirement when they come back home. Cop caught assisting Zanu PF vehicles to evade toll fees … A Mirror cameramen last week caught Police Constable Chihoma of Masvingo Central Police Station assisting Zanu PF vehicles to evade paying toll fees at Lothian Tollgate (Roy) along Masvingo-Mutare Highway. She tried to sneak away when the Mirror crew including editorial consultant, Matthew Takaona confronted the toll gate supervisor with evidence. One culprit was a driver, driving Zaka South MP Clemence Chiduwa’s Nissan Navara registration number AGE 0818. Zinara Spokesperson, Tsungi Manyeza said political party vehicles are not exempt from paying toll fees and warned that anyone caught on the wrong side of the law will pay US$30 fine. Last year Zanu PF chairperson, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri expressed disgust at the behaviour of evading toll fees. Takaona expressed shock at the lawlessness at the country’s tollgates. PGHQ has ordered an immediate stop to activities of Reprographic Rights Organisation, an organisation that knocked at the doors of every business involved in content production demanding US$300 for what it calls copyright licence fees. Business persons said they are being swindled, they complained that the levy demanded is illegitimate, has never been explained to the public, RROZ agents harassed and threatened them and that the use of cops on levy collection missions is unconventional. In the video, an RROZ fails to explain for who they were collecting the money and to what use it would be put. Breaking News....Zimbabwe's first Minister of Education, Dr Dzingai Mutumbuka was yesterday evicted from his US$600 000 mansion in Chisipiti Harare by alleged fraudsters who forged title deeds to his property. The buyer of the house only paid US$40 000. Justice Chinamhora who resigned as corruption investigations were starting against him granted the eviction order against Mutumbuka. Heroic kids…Two kids aged 12 and 9 from Domboshava, Magaya Village defied their ages and rescued a woman clasped by the leg by a 4 metre long crocodile along Mungezi River. The 12-year-old pulled the woman back while the 9-year-old fetched a log and tossed out one eye forcing the crocodile to release the woman. National Parks later captured the crocodile and indeed it had one eye missing. The woman was fishing using nets. These boys truly deserve recognition from the State. As Zimbabwe concentrates on and hurtles towards two-year term extensions for President Mnangagwa and his Parliamentarians, Chikwanda Governmemt Primary School, just 45km from the glitter of Masvingo City has 136 pupils and 4 teachers sharing a one squat hole toilet. The bushes around the school are littered with human waste. This kind of squalor is not uncommon in Zimbabwe schools but the irony is that Chikwanda Primary is not only housed on the same place with one of Zanu PF’s most powerful politicians, Lovemore Matuke’s company but dozens of Matuke’s workers are exacerbating the problem by lining up to use the same one toilet. Matuke runs a brick moulding company, Sando, a stone throw away from the school. Parents complained bitterly about adults, particularly men using school toilets. They also questioned Matuke as a Cabinet Minister for having that kind of situation happening under his watch and doing nothing about it. Matuke refused to comment. The buildings at the school, a homestead of a former white commercial farmer are dilapidated posing serious safety risk for children. There is no accommodation for teachers, forcing them to commute from Masvingo at a cost of US$4 per trip. Student teachers attached to the school share accommodation with vegetable vendors who sell their wares at Roy-Zaka turnoff. One teacher at the school takes at least three different classes i.e.; the teacher for ECD A is the same for ECD B and Grade 1 and all three classes are taught from one room. Education analysts said the arrangement where a teacher takes those three classes concurrently is a disaster for the kids’ education. See full story on.......... Mutsvangwa has described the late Blessed Bombshell Geza as a great hero before and after independence. Mutsvangwa attributed the downfall of Mugabe and the rise of Mnangagwa to Geza’s leading role. Mutsvangwa said it was Geza who actually mobilised him (Mutsvangwa) into the programme to topple Mugabe. He also described the Gezas’ as a family of heroes with the late’s siblings having been top commanders in Zanla and Zipa. Mutsvangwa said the only thing that tainted Geza’s record was his attack on the Second Republic. He however, said Geza’s attack on Mnangagwa was caused by his ill-health that saw him being manipulated by the G40s’. A senior AirForce officer based at Magama Tongogara Airbase in Gweru, Stafford Ncube and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services Officer Commanding Midlands, Somemore Gate allegedly took a tractor and ploughed down 2023 opposition Parliamentary candidate for Chirumhanzi South Constituency, Patrick Cheza's 3-week-old maize crop in a wrangle over a farm in Mvuma that the latter was allocated by the Ministry of Lands.The incident happened on Saturday and the total cost of the destroyed 2-hectares is US$2K. The two senior security officers drove to Cheza's farm using unmarked new Ford Rangers which Government is splashing on senior civil servants, musicians and Zanu PF officials. The matter was reported at Mvuma Police Station under RRB 5909845. The officers' action is in contempt of a court case of the same matter which is before a judge at the High Court in Masvingo.
